Some minor points of interest that I gleaned regarding the episode:
The trio that Dr. Whooves talks to at the bowling alley are based on characters from
The Big Lebowski. I can't think of too many kids in the show's targeted demographic who'd understand
that.
Youtube was responsible for the sea serpent's name. Auto-subtitlers can get kinda weird sometimes.
There's been a substantial amount of fuss concerning Vinyl Scratch's voice, or lack thereof. Most seem alright with the fact that she can't talk (myself included, and it helps that I'm not emotionally vested in the show), but there have been others who wanted Nowacking---a web actress who voiced Vinyl in a number of fan projects---to handle the role. Scuttlebutt has it, however, that not only has Nowacking stated that she doesn't want to provide said voice officially (pun not intended), but that doing so would effectively kill any chances of her taking part in future projects as Vinyl. Copyrights, and that.

That was a twist that no one saw coming.
