and to add to the idea - here's the background to the helmet:

The crescent moon crested helmet is a model that worn by the Samurai Daimyo Date Masamune, The One-Eyed Dragon, Lord of Sendai.

Maybe if he'd been the one-eyed tiger...

Or maybe for the fic it could have really been Tiger but the Musk royalty had that covered up and replaced with Dragon to help their own political power? Just something superfluous that could be fun.

My ideas usually don't qualify for Ideas, because I prefer not to map everything out in detail when I'm tossing around an idea... so at the very least, they go against the rules that want everything mapped out in detail, explain where the idea is probably going.

It's usually that way, no matter how many pages I write for an actual idea. ^_^ I just seem to prefer writing them somewhat open-ended.

...er, well, Spokavriel has read some of my ideas, and probably knows what I'm trying to say. ^_^;;;;;;

Your ideas don't have plot points or character changes stated in advance. Its a free flowing string of thoughts that build into something that eventually grows a narative.

I normally write ideas as - more or less - a pseudo-narrative. That way, it can be 'easily' expanded into an actual story (well, one hopes... ) Yeah, I don't state the basic idea premise and details right at the beginning and work from there.

And thus a Wish was-- for the first time in history. For like any other man, one only got a wish-- if ever-- once.

Thus it was that Ranma met a fairly pretty girl the day previous, and they had talked for a while, and then departed...

Ranma unknowing of a wasted wish...

And the girl cursing the fates-- eve if she was one.

Well there's always the simplest one. "I wish I didn't change when I hit water." Granted = Locked in current form.

I think that's what first came to my mind too, but I still like Kenko's better. Some times complicated is more interesting.
