In the Adventures of TinTin it seems WETA is signed on for Art Direction, Design and Visual Effects. Strange that Spielberg has them on for the effects. He has had a good run in the past of turning to Lucas arts ILM...

I did do one of Asterix and P-chan:

(Tintin also had a cameo on page 1 in the first image with the Lucky*Star Girls, the Lost Ark and a Hyperbolic Cooling Tower)

Perhaps not so strange given that Peter Jackson is involved and he seems to have had a good run with WETA

I have yet to find WETA work on anything Peter Jackson isn't involved in. Check the Credits to Hercules and Xena. Peter's mixed in there too.

Of course, Goscinny wouldn't like having P-chan sacrificed to him - he was Jewish.

If the non-canon 12 Tasks of Asterix is considered legitimate, then the others wouldn't stand a chance. Obelix was challenged to eat a three course meal. The first course consisted of: A boar with fries, a flock of geese, several sheep, an omelette made with eight dozen eggs, a whole school of fish, an ox, a cow and calf ("because to separate ze family...zat would not be right!"), a huge mound of caviar (with a single piece of toast), a camel, and an elephant stuffed with olives.

The cook fled in tears at the end, having nothing left in his kitchen. Obelix then asked "Have you seen the chef? He's run off, and I've only had me starters." He then goes on to eat the monster that he and Asterix had to face in the next task.

I think I've seen Lina Inverse eat almost that much, but the elephant would have been pushing it. Volumetrically, Genma's the only one that stands a chance. Though if Ranma were there, he might be able to use the parlay de fois gras.

Neither of them would be too happy:

On page 19 of The Complete Guide to Asterix Peter Kessler wrote:They received many literary honours, and at one awards ceremony reception wild boar was served. This gimmick caught on, and led to a whole series of 'soirees sangliers' [wild boar dinner parties] - an embarassing situation for Goscinny and Uderzo, who both intensely disliked wild boar.
