Question on Ranma's healing between bodies...

Is there a definitive if he gets hurt in his male body, it goes away in his female body?

I know of Ranma's increased "healing factor", which, truthfully, most any person in good shape has, it's just sped up a little.....

but I vaguely recall seeing both injuries staying and injuries disappearing during cursed form switching....it's been a while since I've read the manga, and this is for a bit of research.

So...any help would be appreciated.

I've seen superficial things like scratches and bruises be left off after the change. But that can be attributed more to lazy sketch artists. Anything serious seems to carry over.

hmm...serious as in a large gash, or as in broken bone?

I'd have to read through again but I've seen bandages still needed after a change so I'm guessing even severe enough bruises fractures gashes and more or less anything that would be noticable for at least a week on a normal person would carry over.

Nothing's ever mentioned about it in the manga. But, as was mentioned by Spokavriel, Ranma's been shown to have injuries carry over when he changes, even scratches. Personally, I'd say that there's no healing from the change.

I do not recall Ranma changing form to heal injuries he instead takes out the first aid kit. So I would guess that it doesn't go away with change in form. He does have accelerated healing even for his universe though since other characters even comment on it (Akane, Kodachi, Asuka, various by-standards for example commented on it). It appears that so long as a bone isn't broken he'll heal from the injures nearly fast enough to watch the wound heal - he has had wounds that left him seriously injured heal in a matter of hours like those left by Ryu (Broken bones seem to take several days to heal).

Ryouga sustained injuries as P-chan when he slept with Akane. It's the other way around, but I don't see why you can't assume the reverse is true.

Even in the case of Ryouga/P-Chan all the times where the injuries don't carry over seem to be more easily attributed to lazy sketching rather than healing from the change.

Don't forget the injury to the head that got Akane protective of P-Chan in the first place was inflicted to him in human form just before changing.

I find it ironic that Akane was the one to injure him then baby him.

I'm pretty sure he does heal when switching forms, even if its just a little. In the martial arts skating arc, after smashing into a wall when he was thrown by the 'couple cleaver' attack, he coud barely even stand. Akane knocked him over with a touch and he was crying from the pain. And if all the popping and cracking sound effects meant anything, he had at least a few broken/fractured bones. After Ryoga splashed him with water he didn't seem to have any more problems moving and he proceeded to have one hell of serious brawl with Ryoga.

I don't think he broke or fractured anything. I think the cracking and popping were just that. Joints cracking and popping like when Dr Tofu did to him in the first volume. Painful but felt fine afterwards. Joints were knocked out of whack is all. Either way there is more evidence against it healing when they change, then there is for them healing from the change.

I for one don't think changing forms influences healing speed in the slightest. But as Ranma is a comedy in the first place I don't think R.T. even thought about it. Reminds me a lot of the old Warner Brothers Cartoons actually. And only in important fights where the injuries have a significant importance does Ranma keep them... and that independently of his form.

So it's like when Warner characters go to the Hospital (Tom And Jerry also had allot of great ones). The injuries stay when there's a plot point.
