Two silver crystals touching is dangerous: how and why?

I can't say I understand how that works. I've heard that two objects can't occupy the same space at the same time, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Also, I can't say that I've ever heard of it being dangerous for a time traveler to touch their past or future selves.

Since time travel is involved, is this simply a kind of temporal paradox, even if it happens to be a made up one?

Probably because this thing is insanely powerful, and the sheer scale of forces involved in this "little paradox" is enough to break time itself.
If a naked singularity forms in the point of contact, breaking the laws of physics, will the material world still be here?
Or they resonate, destroying each other in the process, through time backwards. And everything the crystal ever effected being ret-gone. Which erases the whole galaxy.

Seriously, who could know what happens if the strongest force in all the galaxy tries to divide by zero?

I'm pretty sure that the fading effect in the Back to the Future series was because of something different. XD

It's been a while so I can't remember the exact circumstances but basically he once asserted that he knew how to divide by zero and everyone who said you can't was wrong.

And the fading may occur due to the possibility of the events that brought about that future becoming more and more impossible. After a certain point that future can no longer happen and they fade out completely.

But it's only Usagi who begins to disappear, due to her proximity (and the duration thereof) to her future self. Plus, Endymion says that it's because it's impossible for the same thing to exist in the same place at the same time. That's why they were ushered back to the past and could go back to the same future later.

Since that seems to be the same issue as the two crystals coming into contact with each other, I'm confused. I've read plenty of other occasions in other works where a character meets with their past or future selves, but the consequences were never a result of time travel itself, but dependent on one's actions after the fact.

That´s like how you divide 12 in two and get 7 as the answer. Amusing, but not quite relevant.


If you divide zero, you get zero, if you divide by zero, you get infinity.
