Super cool. :) I've always liked wolves.

I was referring more to the difficulty, but okay. XD

Oh. Well, if anything, the boss seemed a bit like Chen-Lite (strange, considering where they show up in their respective games).

Hey, if you do a lot of bombing, you might as well take advantage of it. :P

Yeah, that's who I'm going to use when I try to make my first successful run. I've been exploiting the modification to the auto-collect gimmick more than I have MarisaB's bomb, though; it almost got me as far as the final boss today.

Is it just me, or does Marisa B's bomb look like something she stole (yet again) from Yuuka? XD

Heh. It wouldn't surprise me.

I tried again, using MarisaA this time. This time I did reach the final boss, but I underestimated just how tough she was (I think it was the survival card with the giant hitbox that got me). I was down to my last life and I had no bombs left on her final card, and she still had half a lifebar or so of health, so I decided to try again another time when I could actually hear what was going on (I was playing it without sound today).

I discovered that beating DDC on Easy unlocks the Extra Stage. That makes SA and UFO the only Windows games where I haven't managed that yet.

And, as I implied in my comments earlier, I think Kagerou's my favorite out of this bunch. Though both the 2nd and 6th-stage bosses have better music, I feel.

The fifth stage's song is the one that's got me at the moment.

I don't think you can unlock the extra stage with easy mode, for those two games. I think I prefer Imperishable Night's method, where you can do it on easy but you have to do more than win without using a continue. Ten Desires was like that, except for normal difficulty.

Here's a good idea: mixing up Touhou and Kirby.

I've resumed trying to unlock SA's Extra Stage. As can be expected, all my attempts continue to end in failure; farthest I've gotten is Rin's final card.

Do you stop playing when you run out of lives, or continue until you're finished? If you go all the way through, you can either practice spell cards or the stages to get better (I don't recall which one), instead of starting from the beginning and working your way toward the experience.

When I run out of lives. If I lose a number of lives in the same stage equal to the number of lives I started the game with, trying to continue until I've finished would be an exercise in futility.

(A minor side note is that Stage 4 isn't giving me as many problems as it used to, and if I use the Marisa-Patchouli team I can get past Satori without too many problems. Stage 3's still giving me fits, though. :x )

After Imperishable Night, Spell Practice didn't make another appearance until Ten Desires. I'd have to play through the 5th stage again before I could practice against Rin's cards, and I don't relish the thought of doing that. On the plus side, I did find a Youtube vid that helps with the stage itself, so I'm going to try and take as many hints from it as I can before I get back to the game.

I decided to put together a "soundtrack" of sorts for my Touhou/Pokemon crossover. Listen to whatever floats your boat.

Speaking of music, I revised my Top Ten Favorites list. I've played Fairy Wars, finished SA, UFO and DDC, and listened to Hopeless Masquerade's soundtrack in the time since I first posted it, so of course I've had to make some changes to it. I'll post it next time I have access to the file.

I know I said I wouldn't be at the Temple all that much for a little bit, but I decided that I had to post this:

Oh. Oh dear. This... this isn't good. This is not good at all. I am afraid. I am very afraid.

Installment number 14.3 has been announced, and it is terrifying. Truly terrifying. Why do I say that? Well, with a name like "Impossible Spell Card", how could I not? Anyway, DDC's 5th Stage boss, Seija Kijin, takes center stage for this game.

Here's the trailer for it. Tremble! Tremble, all ye masses, and despair!
