Alright, next, tux boy's reason for helping in the first place is because he has some sort of need to do it when SM is in danger, right? Would that be like a headache or a mittens or just a tingling spider sense or what?

I don't think the manga and anime differ too much on this specific point (a lot of surrounding details are different, and Cheb covered the anime version of those events), but I'm more certain about what I know of in the manga, so...

Before he regains his memory of his past life, he helps out because they share a common enemy, though he said straight-up that he could be the sailor senshi's enemy if they got in his way (because he's also looking for the Ginzuishou). It's probably also because of having an attraction to her (natural or otherwise, which can be argued), which is returned.

But as far as a need, as in having little choice? I would have to say mostly no. He can sense when she calls out to him or when she's in danger, but it's by his choice and not hers that he arrives. (He can teleport to her and be transformed instantly.) Of course, if you consider morality and/or love as a controlling influence, then I guess his actions are mandatory. ;p

There is a while before he consciously realized the Tuxedo Mask fights were real and not just some strange dream. Before then he was in pure reactive mode and didn't exactly have much choice about it. He was compelled and acted.

Oh she reincarnates but not before the end of the Mistress 9 story arc. Before that she has been alive since the Silver Millennium.

Uh huh. But she reincarnated that old or is she reincarnated back in time? I'm confused.

She dies in the present reincarnates in the future and returns to the present to take over where she died because she can't leave the gates unguarded. But the fact of doing so makes it so she realized she can just double up her time a bit and constantly guard the gate while also having a life away from it.

Its all her. There is only one her here and alive at a time. She came back in time to cover the time it took for her to reincarnate. And since she is abusing the gates to do that already she's letting herself always be at the gates now but also doing more.
