Top Cow Darkness question

This question goes out to any member familiar with Top Cow characters, specifically the Darkness.

One of the limitations of the Darkness is the current Estacado bearer dies when the next one is conceived. The Estacados gain the power of the Darkness on the 21st birthday.

My question is does the limitation cover the Estacados their whole lives or only after they turn 21? Would they die if before they turn 21 they get a girl pregnant?
