Crap, I think I may have hit another small plot hole.

Since Ranma arrived a couple of days after the Dr. Clay story arc, Ranma wouldn't have even met Mihoshi at the time because she was turning Dr. Clay into custody and probably turning in reports concerning the incident.

In fact, this chapter -- next chapter, technically -- would be the first moment that Ranma should actually meet the blonde.

I'll have to do a little revising of a couple chapters of the main story that has two or three mentions of Mihoshi.

Why would you have to change any main story parts? You could just claim in your story line they didn't trust her to get Clay back so Galaxy Police sent someone to collect him. Leaving him to Washu-chans tender mercies until he could be collected It is AU already having Ranma there at all.

Edit: That way Mihoshi is gone that morning having left to make her report like before. It was almost a day to do that after Kagato.

Edit again: You know Mihoshi being able to bring in Clay at all is more or less a plot hole on the part of the series. She did crash her cruiser on the surface of his ship. Not just the excursion module.

Shouldn't that be "...Ranma found her mouth being covered by a small hand..."

Anyhow, enjoying the entire Ranma/Potter/Tenchi cross thing with cameos, too. ^_^

Mihoshi's ship was clearly crashed on the section that became the Black Hole the only entities to escape that were Tenchi Ayeka and Mihoshi. The ship had to go in because there was no way it could have launched and escaped.

The show never covers how she escorted the prisoner without a ship. The only possibility I can come up with is the figure head from Clay's ship being used but they never did describe any way it could have been effective as a vessel to make it anywhere. Maybe manga has a solution not covered in this.

Edit: Keeping the earlier posts there. I just used logic on myself and realized it may be best to have Mihoshi be away 'til the splashdown.

The only thing that makes sense which even the series seemed to leave out would be for a Galaxy Police ship to come and rendezvous with the figure head while at the same time collecting the prisoner and Mihoshi's Report. It also works out as the only reasonable way for her to have a new patrol craft so soon. They deliver it and then use the landing bay space to collect the figure head. The report at the start of the next episode is the same Kagato one. And the lack of cruiser makes my whole leaving after Ranma gets there and calling in a report thing impossible too.

At least the Bridge of a ship usually includes communication equipment and that is all that is really needed to arrange for all of this. Keeping Mihoshi on the figurehead to ensure Clay doesn't escape could be all that there was of that supposed escort duty.

Here's what made me end up thinking this.

Ships involved.
Mihoshi's cruiser: Lost in a black hole again.
Clay's super ship: Source of the current black hole after Figurehead detaches.
Ryo-Ohki
Clay's escape ship: Destroyed by Ryo-Ohki.

All except Ryo-Ohki and the separated figurehead end up destroyed by the end.

Oh that reminds me Ryuoh never does get shown again. Maybe your stories could show when it starts to regrow it's outer form and maybe have Washu and Ayeka get that tree back into space. It's just another thing like the King of Jurai's statement that was left unresolved.

Actually, in episode 7, Washu pulls Mihoshi's ship out of the black hole -- along with the monster. Episode 7 takes place before the Dr. Clay arc. This means that Mihoshi DOES have her ship.

I'm talking about the second Black Hole seen in series that most of Dr Clay's ship gets compressed into. It's his self destruct compressing the ships power core into a singularity. AKA Black hole. Mihoshi's whole ship not just the lander was crashed into the surface of Clay's ship and got lost again in that episode.

Good work. The characterizations of Misiki & Funaho were dead on. Azuza, yep him too. Particularly liked Washu's conversation with Ranma regarding the use of magic and the reason for the limiter.

Good use of the canon with Seryio as well. Pacing was good too.

I'd like to have seen a "negative" reaction to the scratching of the ears to show that only a limited number of people can "get away" with it. You did mention that in the main storyline so perhaps it's not needed, but I think it would add a bit to the chapter.

With people like Ayeka and Ryouko around to attempt to take advantage of that "Weakness" and somewhere between 8 and 10 years to cover. I'd be shocked if it doesn't happen sooner than later.

Ryoko would take advantage of the weakness for the teasing and tormenting aspect. Needless-to-say, teasing and tormenting a young cat-girl by taking advantage of a weakness can lead to said cat-girl scratching and biting like a pissed off animal.

You can be certain that Ryoko will also try to grab Ranma's tail as well.

Ayeka would take advantage of the ear weakness early on most likely to try and relax Ranma enough to get her into certain clothing, or to keep her from being so rude and mouthy.

Sasami would be able to scratch Ranma behind the ear because she'd ask kindly if she could, and Ranma completely trusts her and knows that she won't try and take advantage of it.

Mihoshi -- even though she's ditzy and clumsy -- is trusted by Ranma as well.

Washu... well, even though she'll do it at times for teasing purposes, she'll mostly use it to calm Ranma down if she ends up panicked or freaked.

Tenchi has never felt a need, or even wanted to, do it.

Yosho/Katsuhito would have absolutely no desire to take advantage of that weakness.

There's other characters, but eh.
