This really shouldn't count, as the toy lines may have originally been japanese, but the original cartoons and the CG ones are not. If you are gonna list any Transformers series, it should really be only the ones made in Japan.

I was under the impression that they were all Japanese. Sorry.
Which ones are western?

G1, Beast Wars, and Beast Machines. I don't know about G2 as I've never heard of a G2 TV series, but all of the rest are Japanese.

G2 is just G1 with some added CGI stuff...the main point was to tye in with the rerelease of the toys.
Everything from Robots in Disguise and later has been anime.
There were also some G1 anime made after the US series ended, as well as a couple of 2d animated Beast Wars series.

Umm... Anyways, back on topic... Anime on public television. Yes Transformes has been aired here too, and no, I'm not going into the fact if it was japanese or not.
I did forget to mention they aired the first 6 episodes of the original Guyver series on TV here... At 16:00 on sunday afternoon. Poor children for being at home and watching that...

Hmmmm grew up in China, so I can speak about that... but because of the sheer accessibility of 'burned CD bootleg anime'... I didn't watch most of the anime on TV.
Stuff I do remember watching/hearing about......
Crayola Shin-chan
Chibi Maruko-chan
Slam Dunk
Cooking Master Boy
Captain Tsubasa
Doraemon
Saint Seiya
Ranma 1/2
Pokemon
Gundam Wing
All the Ghibli movies.
and there was one anime I can't seem to recall the name of but feature three ninja cadets who were rather stupid, and their perverted instructor. Way back in the day.... around the late 80's early 90;s.

Hmm... Shin-chan gets aired here during the kiddy-block every now and then dubbed in dutch. Gundam Wing was aired about 2 years ago or so. English dubbed with dutch subs... Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura I already mentioned as being aired last year or so. Now they're pulled. Both were dutch dubbed, but I have a sneaking suspicion they were derived from the butchered US versions of the series. And then we had BeyBlade... Same level as Pokemon and Digimon for me... Kiddy-stuff. So I didn't watch that. All dutch dubbed of what I recall. Doesn't take away the fact that it 'was' aired.
And I'd almost forget that Candy Candy series way back in the 80s somewhere. 52 episodes, so not even the whole series (which was 115 eps), and all dubbed in dutch.
*looks up some data on the web*
Aired between 24 februari 1984 to 19 september 1987. Episode 1 through 52.
HAH! I did locate the series, and despite the lawsuit over it at the moment (which means it's 'banned' material for a while more to come) I atleast got to see the original japanese version with english subs up to ep 54...
*worships the encoder for bring nostalgia to the screen*
Now to wait for the remaining episodes...
*recalls another tidbit: The Wizard of Oz. Aka Oz no Mahou Tsukai.*
Don't recall too much about it anymore, but I do know it was aired somewhere in the 80s.
Wow... they aired more then I expected. Just that it's so spaced out it drops away among the other stuff I watched...
*will probably recall more aired anime after letting the question simmer a bit longer*
-Edit-
See... New person joins, and tosses up Voltron. Seen that one too somewhere in the 80s.

Heh. It's actually thanks to free TV that I'm even aware of anime... I could also go on about how anime is partly responsible for bringing back democracy to us, but I think that qualifies as off topic...

Where are you living? I know for a fact that they never played Stars in English.
Love is a battlefield. So is Sailor Moon. When Josh finishes Gunslinger Moon, then the battlefield will be bloody too.

YTV has recently started airing Gundam Seed Destiny in place of Full Metal Alchemist (which ended a couple of weeks ago).
