Of course, but at worst then you may end up with a narrator who "gives half the story", it basically looks either stupid or incomplete. So when required, a bit of overlap will have to be overlooked. It´s not like it happens a lot.

After having written about 300k words worth of stories, i think i´ve had to do it twice or something. So really not often.

Edit: Oh forgot to add. Even earlier that web comic made fun of something I don't particularly care for in Fanfiction. Characters harping on how long transformations take. Yes they took a while to fill up air time but that doesn't mean they took so long for the characters.
