Authors who break the fourth wall, as in the character will turn to the reader and speak to them, or its mentioned that they want to hurt the author responsible for their crazy life. Things like that that instantly jerk you out of the story and make you fully aware that you are reading a story.

It's just theirs nothing worse than reading a well written amazing plot driven fic that's last chapter ends just when the fic is really getting interesting and then theirs. no more, its not been updated in years. That can be really heartbreaking and you cant help but pester the author to update, and yet like I mentioned there are many reasons why they might have stopped, still bugs me though. I know how hard it can be to write as I did try years ago but I sucked and gave up, so don't try to defend yourselves if your a writer. Im not criticizing anyone im just saying it bugs me.

I don't care for stories that have characters come in and automatically having history especially if the story has events in, or book ending, that time frame and it doesn't even get hinted at.

I think I liked that story, although it's been a while since I read it. How many chapters did you get up to? I only have 7 and would have loved to read more but im not expecting anything after so long.khammel wrote:That is one reason I am trying to write again, even though the incomplete stories are often 10 years old. What? lessons to drive a car? what character with history? im sort of confused by your post yet obviously khammel understood it.Spokavriel wrote: So on her own is thinking about asking for lessons to drive a car? I kind of got that impression from my Ranmachan webpage topic. Ill just nod and agree you really really hate that fic and say no more about it.Noy Telinú wrote:Genma's Daughter. I don't care for that in fanfiction. I hate it a ton.
Also I don't care for destroying the character beyond recognition using terrible logic and mountains of lies and not believable reactions.

Oh? It was a joke? What's the punchline? I think it's not a funny one.
Unless I'm missing something here...
