Took forever to load a program that way, be it ever so small.
My luck, I had almost no contact with computers like these except watching other deal with them and studying the schematics from the ham radio magazines.
My mom worked in a research institute and took me there sometimes so I could play with the computers there. First the Soviet-made thing with BASIC, floppy drive and 64K RAM, later 16 MHz 80286 - but that's the story of 1990s. I'll only say it's the point I got disappointed in BASIC and my search brought me to Turbo Pascal 5.0. I'm a Pascal follower forever.
