There is a big problem with the idea of Shinji getting Ryouga's curse. #1 how would he get it. #2 If he does have it then how can he ever be depended on to fight? It creates more hassles than is really fun to work out for the characters to deal with. More likely they'd just have to force Rei into piloting with life threatening injuries because its better if she dies than the entire world.

Spokavriel was referring to the directional curse. If Shinji is always lost, then they can't count on him being there to fight whenever an angel happens to show up. On the other hand, is does give double usage to that umbilical, as it would keep Shinji from getting lost in the middle of a fight...

I fail to see how a pig curse could impact piloting at all.
Everything is done through neural links. Its not a direct connection into the kids brains so why would it have any more difficulty as a pig? Even if I were to talk about that curse, which makes no sense, the arguments on both sides seem to negate it as a possibility of something to effect piloting.

i was for WAIN idea, nothing about the pig curse for shinji. as for hi not showing up..you make it a plot device he shows up when needed totaly wondering where he is and gets shoved into this big robot and told to fight every week....other wise totaly clueless for whats going on...much like the rest of the ranma cast most of the time it seems.
or at the very least lets make sinji with some balls.....being raised by kuno could be very fun though....
in the first fight talking about the evil sorcer that pulled this thing out to fight him and telling everyone that the prob knife is to wimpy and pulling out a gaint sword from no where and using it to cleave the angle into small parts while talking about the great bard and honor all the crap kuno goes on about. the good side of this would be would be hard to knock out since he was trained to have a hard head though....and growing up to things that his father is a very evil man who works magic over eveyone.....sorry carried away with very weird idea.
