Ranma in Fiore

I am looking for some suggestions as to what types of magic would be reasonable for Ranma if he were to end up in Fairy Tail and who might be a good teacher for him.

Currently I am leaning towards ranma's power being gender split with Ranma-chan as a being of magic having more power at least initially.

Please list powers by effect (possible techniques / spells would be a bonus) and method of control (innate, via focus, via items, summoning etc.)
and if relevant which gender gets what.

I agree that Ranma should really learn a bit of everything. But I think it should be limited to everything that can be managed with innate abilities. Anything requiring a focus or relies on external forces such as summoning or invoking a higher power shouldn't work for him nor her. Unless you have your Ranma taking up the other associated life style/culture for it.

Learning should be from observed examples. Maybe even getting confused why it is easier in girl form at first having mistaken it for just being another Ki technique instead of actually magic in practice might be a useful plot device for a short time.

While I could see Ranma managing fire air and water I just can't see earth fitting... Perhaps water on both forms and Fire in male Air in female forms. Maybe even occasionally having moments thinking about if fire and air were reversed then control over the curse could possibly be achieved.

Copying is a possibility but I'm not sure how to keep him from being too powerful that way.

I Like the idea of elemental splits and was already leaning toward Water for the girl side (which due to it being late Ranma would give backdoor Ice via the soul of Ice)

What do you guys think about Female: Water/Ice/Air and Male: Fire/Electricity(I like that as a Specialty)/something else(not Earth - Time or something movement based perhaps) with Water being the first power learnt.

Which should be the first power to show on the male side and Why?

What if you explain his learning ability for marital arts as a subtle manifestation of time? Activating instinctively making it so that his mind just has more time during fights.
