Why does a Sailor Scouts henshin paint their nails first, when they are wearing gloves at the end of it?

Can anybody help?

Because it's a pretty effect to add more color somewhere other than just in clothes or on the face. And Who ever said (in canon) the gloves never come off?

They never said it but from what I've seen,they never do take them off. I was just curious if there is a canon or fanon accepted explination.

The nail-painting thing was only done in her first transformations anyway. I guess that would be the first season. After that, none of her henshin involved nail polish.

Just watched these. In all cases, the inners only get the polish in the second henshin. Their nails are already painted before the sequence begins in the others. It seems that it's a sign of a certain power level. Usagi is generally at least one power-up ahead of the other girls at any given time, so that makes sense. She starts out with a more powerful transformation than the inners from the very beginning.

Of the outers, only Hotaru has a henshin where nail polish is applied, and it's just one sequence. The others have polish on before transformation.
