Interesting idea. I like it. Sounds like it could lead to dozens of hilarious situations.

Some notes: mental springs dont seem to carry over to the original form. The warrior who felt into Penitent Monk spring was hyper-violent while not transformed. Rouge was a normal girl, so long as she didn't Asura up. Both seemed to have no love for their cursed form. For Ranma in this situation I think he would not mind the benefits of his cursed form, but there would still be no, so to say, leakage into his original form. He'd still be a loud-mouted martial arts nutjob. For laughs, have his mature-woman form be worried about becoming a "Christmas cake" and on the lookout for steady companionship. For even bigger laughs, go for the "young and virile". That would certainly freak Ranma out and have him trying to balance the "respect" benefit against the "OHGOD, I WANT TO KISS OTHER MEN!!" downside.

For the Tendo sisters, I think since Kasumi knew their mother the best she might resent an older woman trying to butt in to her harmonious family. A housemaker duel would be pretty hilarious, I think. If nothing else, spiteful little things Kasumi might do to drive away the invader would be pretty funny. On the other hand, Nabiki and Akane, particularly Akane, might rather enjoy having a mother figure around and, if you want to play it for laughs, have them constantly splash Ranma.

Soun might be a source of great hilarity if you make Ranma's advances unwanted advances. Like, say, he wants to remain faithul to his dearly departed wife and Ranma-baasan wants to jump his bones. Having Nabiki and Akane support "her" advances, while Kasumi and original-Ranma trying their best to ruin them could lead to some pretty funny situations.

Genma would be funny, but in a different manner. Idea here would be that Ranma looks like Nodoka's sister, right? or a slightly younger Nodoka? Well, have him freak out over the change and Ranma-baasan calling gim "Genma-san" in the same tone Nodoka used to. The most hilarious reaction here would, of course, be full blown fear.

I don't think "Secretary" would be a good turn, however. It would require the introduction of many new characters, and take the focus away from the highschool element. Go for the "hot for teacher" route. That way you can keep interactions with Akane and Nabiki at school, even Soun during PTA meetings.

The Nodoka interaction could be either very dramatic, or purely for fun. You've already outlined the comedic approach in your original post. Drawing it out, as was suggested by others, would be very dramatic. Dramatic approach could be use as a wrap-up arc for the story, I think.

Overall, it reminds of WFROSE's "Older" but with an inverted apprach. A very interesting take on the "age" curse and one I would be willing to read.

I could see that working really well. Would be neat to see little rapid dusting competitions and cooking ones where with Ranma's crazy reflexes she dominates. Pushing Kasumi out of her angelic persona into one similar to Akane's without the physical violence. Hell, even make her the one engaged to Ranma since she is interested in older men and Ranma is older half the time. Kasumi being the one angry and Nabiki and Akane mellowing out and really seeing Ranma as the mother figure to Kasumi's ire would be great. Wonderful idea there.

Of course I could also see the Kasumi character see Ranma's arrival in this version as a blessing as she could go follow her own dreams. Either interpretation works but yours would be much more humorous.

I'm sorry Frog but um I can't say that I can see the Kasumi/Homemaker War idea as fun. And as far as the idea of a relationship between Ranma and Soun well during one lock time in the Manga there was a line that was easy to translate into a suggestion for that to happen to Join the Schools.

I'd rather Ranma have some way to stay more involved with the Tendo sisters and other chaos of Nerima instead of more or less any full time job or teaching position would require. A Part Time office assistant instead of a full secretary could end up working only part of the school day.

As for the question of "Leakage" I'm not sure that would really be a worry. I mean curse victims in birth form can still put on airs of their curse form for effect and I thought the point where that appeared to be the case in the earlier suggestions seemed to fit that.

I do like the idea of Ranma being interested in Younger men. They would after all be the correct age group for Ranma when not in cursed form and seriously freak him out. Just imagine Ranma realizing she was making moves on Hiroshi after getting back to normal?

It all depends on how it is taken and I can see the humor flat lining in the Home Maker war idea.

The Shampoo interaction alone feels worth the price of admission.
The Nodoka scene I'd have her spread that out over a bit of time not just right in one chapter reveal all of that. Make them friends first and then slowly introduce the elements you had outlined. That way there is a little more tension then all at once going 'bam' here is an info dump...Hell maybe even have Nodoka bring her over for tea one day and then have Ranma offer on another day and have her meet Genma again...then have your wrong conclusion segment . Much more satisfying with possible strewn panda parts included!

I like the suggestion. The two women might bump into each other in a park, and that starts a friendship... then have a blowup. I like.

Ryoga, sitting on the wooden washing stool in the Tendo furoba room, when the shoji slides open to reveal Ranm'basan wearing only a tiny white towel. "Ranma, what do you think you're doing!" Ryoga shouted as he tried to avert his eyes from the very curvy older womanly form. "Aw, don't you like me Ryoga-kun?" Ranma'basan spoke coyly. Ryoga then heard the sound of fabric falling to the floor, and for that instant he turned to see... and froze solid at the sight! Ranma'basan then knelt behind Ryoga and rested her chin on his shoulder as she began to massage the sides of his barrel chest. He could feel her hot breath against his ear as she whispered, "Ryoga-kun, I'm a very lonely woman with needs, and I think you'd be UP to the challenge. Oh! I see you are!" she said with a throaty giggle after glancing to his crotch.
Before things could progress to where Ranma'basan desperately wanted then to go, the shoji door was slid open with such force that it came completely off it's track, and there stood Kasumi, her face purple with rage as she shouted, "Ranma! stop trying to seduce poor Ryoga!" then she flung a bucket of VERY hot water onto the amorous woman that thus reverted her back to a teenage male.
Ranma for his part suddenly found himself nude, and aroused, clinging to the back of a equally nude Ryoga, who Ranma could tell was rapidly reaching "Volcanic" levels of fury. But all that was underscored by the horror Ranma himself was feeling, 'I was going to... Oh KAMI I WAS GOING TO ..... WITH RYOGA!' Ranma was too horrified to even make a scream, just wheezing gasps as he let go of Ryoga and lept out of the bathroom window, with Ryoga soon to follow shouting death threats to Ranma for almost stealing his virginity. Still in the bathroom stood Kasumi with a very neutral look to her face, before she turned her nose up into the air, turned on her heel, and muttered "Tramp!" before walking away with more of a bouncy to her step.

Something like that maybe?

Heh that is a really cute little segment with Ryouga there. You're going to have issues with him remaining at all in character in his male form though as I think that would horrify him so much that if anyone poured or played any games with cold water he'd physically kill them when he got turned back if he commonly engaged in behavior like that. His cursed form needs to have A LOT of benefits to make him not balk the second he did something that scarring to his psyche.

Oh and along with the Nodoka friendship stuff why not have Ranma attempt to get Nodoka to act how she does. Find some cute virile young men to bed, take her out for nights on the town that sort of thing. Could lead to some cute humor. And I mean come on 12 years or more without her husband she has to be sexually frustrated right?

I can see another later scene where Ranma and Kasumi are going to go deliver cookies or some such to Tofu and Ranma gets splashed along the way. Kasumi is worried that Ranma will attempt to seduce Tofu (her only way out of this engagement to this home wrecking mother role stealing tramp) and attempts to direct her away from their destination but it is too late and she won't be out and out 'evil' about it since she's still Kasumi so they arrive. They deliver the cookies and to Kasumi's surprise Ranma takes no interest at all in Tofu (he's just not spry and doesn't look virile enough for her compared to the other younger martial artists she knows). Tofu on the other hand, to her horror sees Ranma and comes to his senses and begins flirting with her and absolutely ignoring Kasumi. They leave a bit later and Kasumi politely invites Tofu over while hopefully Ranma is at school. Tofu not realizing this agrees to come so he can see this beautiful vision of a woman again. The next day before Tofu comes over Kasumi goes out and buys some very sexy/slutty clothing to attempt to regain his interest. The fathers think this is her finally getting over her hesitation and attempting to seduce Ranma and support her wholeheartedly. They even go so far as to go drag Ranma back from school because Kasumi was talking about feeling hesitant to continue to wear the clothing and right as Ranma in cursed form gets home Tofu arrives. Practically ignores Kasumi, focuses on Ranma who he then compliments on the cooking. Ranma attempts to politely show her disinterest but Tofu is having none of it. Kasumi in anger pours boiling hot tea over Ranma and Tofu sees his beauty change into a man. He instantly realizes it is Jusenkyou and goes off on a journey to find a cure for this beautiful woman. Kasumi is aghast at her last hope for escaping the engagement leaving. Anger ensues.

Another scene I thought of is the oft used age reducing mushrooms. Ranma's normal form is affected as per normal and he reverts to a little kid His cursed form is however changed into a high school aged teenager. Her reaction is that she simply loves it and out and out refuses to attempt to change back since now she's young again and can seduce plenty of young men. She does ultimately attempt to find the mushrooms as she simply has to get Ryouga back to his proper age. They have to physically force her to take the mushrooms to return to the correct age .

And if you ultimately get that far the Herb arc could end the story on a really funny note:

Ranma dripping wet stared angrily at the young woman that had just splashed her with a ladle full of cold water. "What exactly were you thinking young lady splashing a mature luscious matron like myself with water like that and treating my youngest cute daughter so shoddily?"

"Heh you remind me of that damned monkey. Now you'll never change back to your normal form. You'll be forever stuck as you are now hot water will have no effect!" Herb snarled mockingly.

"W..I'll never become a simple minded young boy again?" Ranma asked shocked.

"That's right. Mint, Lime come! Our quest for the Kaifusu must continue!"

"One second honey. You're telling me that I am forever a beautiful sexy woman...and your society has next to no women in it, but plenty of young men who have little to no experience with women?" asked Ranma breathlessly her bewildered expression growing into a wistful one.

Herb shocked at her sudden mood change simply nodded. A large manic smile spread across Ranma's face and she started to laugh manically. "Jackpot! You are SO taking me with you!"

why does ranma even have to be attracted to men at all the mental spring changes the victims personalities but there has never been any evidence that they have that big of an effect. for instance while asura was a lot more violent then rouge she still was very melodramatic and focused when angry. the same guy that happosai stoll the scroll from the spring of drown young boy didn't really change what he did merely how he did it. actually i think you would have funnier moments if you leave ranma-chan's personality the way it is. a lot of people in the manga seem to over look a tomboish young girl, but a grown women who acts the same way. well i can see the thoughts of the more perceptive people who don't know about the curse, going a certain way if you catch my drift.

finally other men being attracted to ranma is a classic and it has always worked. my favorite examples of this is Crose Princess of the moon, and alternate future. ranma-chan is a hottie and she knows it so why degrade ranma by forcing him to do something that would end up disgusting him. personally i think you would get bigger laughs with soun despritely trying to denie the fact that he's attracted to her and ranma either being clueless about it or disgusted

There is something interesting that might be worth pointing out at some point in this fic idea. Just a stray factoid. Women who have gotten pregnant have a different heart beat than women who have not. Its something that changes during the child's gestation and never goes back to how it was before.

Wrote a big reply to this which I lost because I was dumb. Too lazy to write it all out again. The gist of it:

1. If she's hanging on to every man with a pulse, there wont be much room to respect, even among the amazons. Reminds me "Ranma the Amorous Oversexed Nympho"
2. Isn't Ryouga's standard reaction to female advances shyness?
3. If you go for "the hot for teacher" route, try something like this image to change others views of Ranma?

Finally, once again, good idea. Whichever way you take it, looking forward to it.

i have to say all of these little bits and peices of this idea are really funny though and i am crakcing up laughing at the idea...the batroom scene with akane was to funny and the batrrom scene with ryocga is priceless.....

the scene with nodakca was amusing.....
you have to write this and keep the ideas funny and humours though.....the battle with kasime for the hoem front war would be epic is done right though...
