The drugs probably help too. I'm assuming they keep the Ayanamis on mood stabilising drugs at least.

Yes, there's not much in the canon to suggest that Rei is on medication for emotional control, but it's not unheard of. It also gives me amusing options as to how much of the effects are due to pharma and how much due to other factors.
