The dwarf eyed the four with a slow blink of his eyes, certain a ... unique bunch they had assembled here. He wasn't sure what to make of them all, but erm ... well, wasn't his duty to do the hiring of the initial exploring team. Fingers stroking one of the smaller braids on his beard, he let out a breath.
Alanna wrote:Nadya stares up at the doors, eyes wide. "Wow...!" the mithran says, tail flicking behind her before curling into a question mark shape. "...That is one heckuva big ass mchuge door!" One of the large, feline ears on her head flicks, then turns to listen to the Dwarf and the others.
Her head tilts to the side, and she practically bounces over to them. "Hi!" She says, excitedly. "I'm Nadya! I'm new here! Why can't you go around the doors? A quick slip into sidereal time and pop out on the other side?"
His eyes lit up at that question and nodded, "Ah, a practical method of sideways thinking! It's indeed a thought, but down here, with all the alloys and strange crystal formations, portals and dimensional travel, to say nothing of 'time' movement is tricky without big, expensive bits of equipment. Very dangerous without ground recon and confirmation of what we'd be stepping into.
"Things are complicated by the fact our ground radar, sonar pings, and other bits of techno bleeps and boops, there is indeed at least most of an intact structure. The alloy has prevented magical scrying and probing, and I'd not risk dimensional or temporal movement 'round it. Places like this tend to be shielded and ... "
He suddenly slapped his cheek softly, "Oh listen to me ramble on. Ne're mind that.
"I'm Glorian Goldbeard, of the Crystalhammers, geologist and senior adviser to the Lumanii Historical Society, I'm the primary organizer of this investigation. And all of you are ... "
He pointed to each in turn, reading from a stack of papers on a clip board, "Axinite ..., Ethan ... , Nadya ..., and Kitoria ...
"All of you are part of the initial exploratory team, and will be accompanying me and a small band of other folk who will be probing the temple for troubles, and initial cataloging. All of you have some form of battle preparation and various other skills, I'm assured, thus we five will handle certain tasks, and a few other specialists will handle other tasks. Which reminds me ... where are those fools?" He frowned, eyeing his chronometer. Gazing into the brilliant LCD on his wrist with a grunt.
"Bah, why don't you all give a bit more introduction. Who are you here representing, if it's not confidential, and what duties you've been assigned to handle after we get in?"
