Bleach/Naruto Crossover Idea I been boucing around

For submitting and talking about story ideas, individual scenes that need doctoring, outlines, or other detail work that isn't quite ready for the C&C thread.

Idea submissions must be at least five paragraphs long, and include plot points, summaries of which characters are involved, and, for fanfiction, how it differs from canon. Both original and fanfiction ideas welcome. Though original works should have more development. Replying posts must give actual commentary, no "GREAT IDEA" or "THIS SUCKS".

Bleach/Naruto Crossover Idea I been boucing around

Postby Vahn » Sat Oct 05, 2013 8:34 pm

So... I been bouncing around this idea for a while now for a bleach and Naruto cross over. In this version I know for sure I want to name it "Return of the Samurais" yes exactly like Return of the Jedi. As far as Naruto history goes, I believe all of their Samurai was subverted by the ninjas when the ninja learned how to wield chakra. The Samurai went the way of the dinosaurs after that not knowing how to deal with the new and improve ninjas with their blood line and powers. Hence why the Ninja became a mercanaies force and the Shinobi world became dark and cruel almost overnight. So my idea like the title say is the return of Samurais who can go toe to toe with the Shinobis of Narutoverse. Which brings me to my idea.

Idea 1: For the Narutoverse this would be taking place before the six path of pain arc. Bleach would be Taking place during the battle with Aizen, Ichigo reached final form, and the final strike damages Aizen. Seeing as how that Hyogoku thing is like super oped, I'll let the power of Ichigo final blast destroy the Hyoguku and bend reality and spaced taking the ENTIRE Soul Society and depositing it right into Naruto world. Espada and ALL. In this new world all of the Soul Society members are now given flesh and their reieki have been replaced by Chakra. Now... This is where I have conflicting problems. I need the Soul Society to be dropped in a isolated area but at the cross road of a war torn land. I have no idea which land would be best for it. Secondly. I'll have the Gotei 13 be the main military force that goes out and scout around the area and see Ninja's pretty much harassing people and doing what they want. They would laugh at whatever squad is sent out because they are samurais and then get owned hard. The people would then have hope as Samurais have come back. As we all know the Gotei 13 could be pretty ruthless but Yamato is smart not stupid so he decided to play upon the good will of the people and carved out a the land for himself.

Eventually people would hear about the Seritei Samurias and Daimyo close by would to be free of the Shinobi world grip on their society and like the samurais back... Of course the conflict would then erupt in general as the Gotei 13 go from 13 squad to 13 armies as they train the local populace to be militia forces.

The Espada would be displace someplace else and they would be more akin to Biju or tailed beast then human. Aizen would be recovered meet Madara and Tobi but without the Hyogoku.

This pretty much would be a war fic, as those that are sick of the shinobi ruthless rules want to joy the enforcers of the Gotei 13 who actually let people go about their lives with little hassels. Ichigo and Naruto of course would be central as they would eventually meet and a clash of idea and methodology would be their dividing point. A couple of scenes I have in mind have Esapdas vs Tail beast vs Astasuki. Kenpachi vs Killer Bee, Tsunade vs Unoha. Baykua vs Ochimaru. Sage mode Naruto vs Bankai Ichigo. Tailed Naruto vs Hollowed (Biju now) Ichigo . Danzo vs Kurotschi.

The issue I have having is, - what land should they be dropped in and what political region would get them into the main naruto storyline and create the ripples I wants. I am not super detailed knowledgeable.

Idea 2: Start off with type one only Ichigo, Bakuya, Kenpachi, Rukia, Orihime, Yourochi and Soifon get toss to the SHinbo world and encounter ninjas who now rule the world in place of Samurais. With this one Yourochi and Sofion want to remain undercover but ichigo cannot tolerate injustice. Bakuya is the model samurai down to the looks and so would have a fan following as they go from town to town righting wrongs. Battle with Atsuki is a must might later on join Hidden Leaf Village.

Point of the cross over bringing back that samurai culture on equal footing to the shinobis. In this case which land should I put them in? Where should their journey start?

Just putting it down and trying to think of a way to hammer out the details.

I want to name it "Return of the Samurais" yes exactly like Return of the Jedi.

Then skip the "s" at the end of samurai. There shouldn´t be one there anyway. "Samurai" is singular and plural. One samurai, many samurai, it´s all the same.

taking the ENTIRE Soul Society and depositing it right into Naruto world. Espada and ALL.

The issue I have having is, - what land should they be dropped in and what political region would get them into the main naruto storyline and create the ripples I wants. I am not super detailed knowledgeable.

Between Konoha and Kumo? That´s where the big fight happens later and it´s around where Orochimaru had his little toy country. Another possibility would be northwest of Konoha, south of Iwa.

There´s some issues that will require you to make this a rather AU Narutoverse though.
In the Narutoverse, the Land of Iron is already renowned for its samurai.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZ4lyH6bviY

2nd, the shinobi are only in charge in their own villages(with some exceptions, like how Orochimaru´s toy country is completely under his thumb), as is quickly clear from how their villages mostly are not the capitals of their nations. It is left unsaid just how much power the nations daimyo´s really have, but the kage´s are repeatedly shown to aquiesce to their requests or demands. Like choosing Danzou as hokage instead of Kakashi.

Tsunade vs Unoha

Dude, that is such a pawning... Unohana is 2nd or 3rd strongest captain, specialised in kidou... Worst case opponent for Tsunade.

Anyway, you would have to work a lot on twisting the background just to work as you want it, then a fair amount of more work to get it together...
I´m somewhat skeptical of the idea.

Yeah, the video just shows how weak the Samurai's of the Naruto world are, unable to change or adapt having to try and rely on technology to gain an edge. I think the Land of Iron would join the Gotei 13 if I could fold it in. If that is where Oichmaru then I don't think they have enough time to make a power base yet as all the people there are crazy. Any good filler country that has nice pleasant weather that would be close enough to the action?

From what I observe in Naruto, the Daiyamo and the feudal system is weaker and worthless compare to the Ninja world. I theroized the reason why they exist at all is mainly because they are sheep and cattle for the Ninja world to use to fund their projects. The Shinbos all the villages are mercenaries that like to get paid, they are not interested in rule but we all know where the power comes in. I think the Daimyo just provides money because he certainly does not have the strength to make them bend to their will. That's was something I find funny about Naurto. They have an entire army of ninja and these weakling Daimyo are calling the shots? Something doesn't add up. In our feudal system, Samurai could kill a ninja and most stuff for their lord. Ninja are assassin, with the recent naruto arc, I mean you have a friggin 10 tail beast running around. If the Daimyo had power they would have been in there already.

The Gotei 13 seem to be true samurai as they don't go for the shady method of fighting but mano-e-mano. They are also incredibly powerful.

As for Unoha vs Tsunade. Tsunade is a S-rank Sannin! Give her some credit! She's also a medic nin AND the slug princess! Unoha is a healer and a powerful Kenpachi both of them are all about brute strength and match evenly well. Naturally all the captains are S-ranks. I just remember, I am also thinking see Deidrea vs Toshioro. Pain vs Naruto and Ichigo and each giving him their version of what to do and why he shouldn't be crazy.

Pretty much the best of the Ninja world vs the best of the Samurai world. Kidou vs Jutsu .

I do... Tsunade would have a much more decent chance against Kenpachi, but Unohana´s skills are just totally wrong to face for her.
Exactly how is Tsunade supposed to defend against stuff like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Eq5D5gxe_s

Tsunade is focused as a close range hand to hand combat, yes she has other skills, but against a powerful opponent like Unohana, most of those will be unlikely to work very well, which results in a total pawned situation as Tsunade can´t counter effectively.

The basics of the Narutoverse is a simple truth, it does NOT make sense. Consider for example that army of shinobi? Where did they come from? Canon says Konoha trains most it´s noobs in the academy, which means even if you count really high, you get maybe 15 new per year.

Which means it would take Konoha the greater part of a MILLENIA to get that many shinobi.

However, by canon, the non-shinobi DO hold the power.

Yeah, the video just shows how weak the Samurai's of the Naruto world are, unable to change or adapt having to try and rely on technology to gain an edge.

Ah, no. It shows Sasuke getting the usual "i´m so stupidly awesome" plot fiat treatment.
And where did you get the idea they use tech from? They use chakra.

Onoki also states that anyone daring to challenge the military might of the samurai would be foolish.

Any good filler country that has nice pleasant weather that would be close enough to the action?

In theory, there are many, but most do not exist on the few maps.

There's a great misconception, the samurai were mercenaries as well, with a moral code but still merenaries.
The difference is that Naruto ninja are like modern soldier who don't play fair, but also them are different from western and modern mercenaries, if they don't stay loyal to the village they are declared traitors. I'm no expert but the mercenary companies aren't a private activity where the workers can leave and work for someone else? While I guess that the hystorycal ninja clan were treated like criminals when discovered and without the political backing and support, until they were allowed to work only for the Shogun and they become a sort of secret service.
However the Naruto samurais are still superhumans and could rebell against the Daymo who is political figure not a mighty one-man army. The same with the real world, the meji restauration was the revolt of samurai which put an end to the Shogun age. The Daimyo has always relied on someone else's military power, samurai and ninja, whitout politics they never amounted to nothing.

Beside I don't remember Konoha ninja accepting criminal missions against Fire Country's citizens, no assassinations for not political and military reason, Sarutobi's son was one of Daimyo's special guards for a while and they were a sort of holy order. Despite all the grimdark fanfics trying to tell us otherwise, like many fictional ninja they are only inspired from the lengend born around their misterious skills, they have nothing to do with japanese history.

And this idea doesn't feel like a Bleach crossover, you are talking away all the elements making up the series, the Soul Society is world of spirits and afterlife ruled from Shinigami who guide the souls after the dead and difend them from the Hollows. In this fic they are just a bunch of supersamurai, you are forgetting that most of the Soul Society's numerous population are poor people who will start to die from starvation in the physical world with the trauma of losing their longevety

How a displaced Soul Society or numerous shinigami would react in a world like that is fairly interesting to imagine. The idea does appear to come with a few technical holes if you base it on the canon Bleach and Naruto series and real world history. (On a side note Aizen teaming up with Tobi/Obito/Madara-Impersonator is a bit cliche just because the world hopping villain team up thing has been used a lot. Personally I think Aizen would be more likely to try and go with his own plans or co-opt the organization for his own purposes.)

In real life a lot of samurai or other soldiers, unless sworn to a lord, were also mercenaries much in the same way ninjas are/were in the Naruto-verse (like Mr. L said). Despite the samurai moral code it doesn't mean everyone followed it 100% of the time (I'm betting you had your fair share of war horror stories, sexual harassment etc when samurai were common). Having samurai over shinobi probably doesn't stop civilians from getting caught in the cross fire or collateral damage being done.

We don't really have much of an indication of how ninja's were perceived by the ordinary people in the Naruto-verse or in the countries that hosted hidden villages in general in the current time period. It is somewhat open to interpretation or imagination. I would imagine there are probably some limitations on what types of missions the ninja's of each hidden village can take in their host countries as well. You can't be able to assassinate every civil servant and businessman left, right and center and still have a functioning government and economy after all.

Not sure Yamamoto or other shinigami would lower themselves to serving human lords either. Either too many would see it as beneath them or they would think it goes against their actual responsibility for protecting the afterlife. (I suppose some exception might be made to some the normal rules if they were truly trapped in another world though).

--------------------------------------

With Soul Society this idea assumes to some extent the Gotei 13 and shinigami were more moral than the Naruto-verse hidden villages and ninja. There are a lot of reasons to doubt this given what we saw in canon.

Squad 2 is basically Soul Society's version of ANBU or black-ops ninja's and the maggot's nest. There are people that should be locked up for good reasons but the indication Kisuke gave in the turn Back the Pendulum arc was people could be held indefinitely if they were a 'perceived' threat to soul society without strong evidence for it.

People like Kenpachi and Mayuri are also captains and get away with a lot. On a purely moral basis, at minimum, Mayuri should probably be one of those people actually locked away for a lot of his experiments regardless of how useful he probably is (likely the only reason he isn't still locked up).

To name a few others:
-The resentment of shinigami in Rungonkai.
-The initial superiority attitude towards humans (regardless of power difference humans and shinigami are still pretty much the same in the end and most shinigami probably just started as human souls).
-Living in the biggest gated community ever made and the poverty in a good chunk of the place outside the Serietei and the first several districts makes you wonder as well. Not saying it should necessarily be paradise or that the shinigami are entirely at fault for that...... In spite of the fact that Soul Society should probably have a disclaimer. And if what Rukia did in the first episode is common when sending souls over they should probably stop the false advertising. (Ever wonder how the after life = paradise myth came to be in the Bleach world anyone? ) Regardless the shinigami do seem pretty indifferent to the lives and well being of the average person in Soul Society for guardians of the after life.

-------------------------

To half counter my earlier point though I suppose we don't really know what the justice systems or other things like that in Naruto's world are like. I imagine perception might also play a bigger role than reality if people really were that fed up with the ninjas. Getting rid of a dictatorial force probably outweighs considerations of what is replacing it right away after all.

---------------------------

The Naruto world daimyo's might actually be against the idea of replacing ninja or tearing down the hidden village system as well. The world from before the hidden villages was pretty unstable precisely because of the fact that ninja's were split into several mercenary clans any petty warlord could hire for enough money. The creation of the hidden villages helped create some degree of a monopoly on military power again, end the constant warfare and stabilize the borders of the major countries.

By going to war with the hidden villages you would risk creating a similar situation again unless you found a way to contain the clans or anyone with enough knowledge of chakra and jutsu. Even if the super-powered samurai remained around to take up the military power vacuum there is still a major risk of creating a large amount of instability by attacking the hidden villages, especially a few generations down the line (think unleashing the ultimate terrorist force).
What is the true purpose of life?

WASTING TIME!!
