General Fan Art Request

Postby Sailor Sedai (Ellf) » Tue Jun 27, 2006 2:02 am

Fan Art for any of my fics would be appreciated.
I'd like one of Nekomata possessed Ranma from Ranma no Jinnchuuriki
I'd like one of Sailor Sedai as she is described in the 1/2 an Age Omake, and from Power of the Senshi.
I'd also like one of Shinigami Ranma with his body lying beneath him, blocking a blow from a Hollow with Hoshimaru.
I'd also like any that anyone is just inspired to do from my fics. I would be honored to have the fan art.

Ellf in 1/2 an Age Omake wrote:Ranma smiled and muttered under his breath, “I really hate saying this.” He raised his hand and the Great Serpent ring upon it lit up. “Aes Sedai Power, Make Up!” Ranma’s body morphed from male to female, and suddenly she was clad in the classic Senshi fuku, save for the fringe. The fringe was of a snake eating its own tail. There was a belt and buckle the same way, and she had earrings of the Ancient Symbol of the Aes Sedai on her ears. Yin and Yang, saidin and saidar she was the channeler who could do both. She was Sailor Sedai.

Ellf in Power of the Senshi wrote:She was in a cave, holding the statuette, clutching it tightly to her bosom. No longer was she clad in the formal dress that she spoke to her brother in, but rather she was wearing something much different. Ranma knew exactly what she was wearing. It was similar to a uniform that she’d seen at the high school in Azabu-Juuban for girls to wear. However there were differences in it. A marble-colored bow rested upon her chest, resting in the center was not a jewel, but a small disc made of black and white stone, looking like two teardrops in each other. That disc reminded Ranma a bit of the Yin Yang he had seen in some temples, only it didn’t have eyes. The fringe of the skirt cycled in a gradient from white to black and back again. She didn’t have to look in a mirror to see herself clad in this uniform. She knew she had a belt on that had the same disc as the belt clasp and earrings that matched. On her forehead was a tiara with a black jewel that had a point of white at its center.

Colours for the fuku or is it just black and white? black fuku, white top?

You got the fuku coloring right. Just a black and white motif. Black fuku, white top.

Here is a first draft. Some details are missing as yet. (needs C & C)
Image
when you say marble do you mean with veins of colour (ie black on white / white on black?)
snake around the bottom of her skirt?
belt - what she has or something else?

Yeah, I meant with veins of color. Perhaps white on black would look better.

You know, the belt could be the snake. It's meant to represent the Great Serpent which is a snake eating its own tail. That'd make a good belt for her.

I fear I have to do some nitpicking, the Aes Sedai sign is properly shown only on the topmost disc. The white Flame of Tar Valon starting at the bottom swinging upwards and to the right and the black Fang of the Dragon starting on top and curving along the left side to the bottom.
That done, it's a very nice picture.

One other nit-pick <g> - your three taijitu are upside down (white is always on top).

Heh.
Is the white on the right or left?
Google found all sorts of versions - black ball on top, white ball on top, spining left, spining right. and one version where the balls are opposed horizontally.
(whether I used Aes Sedai, Taijitu, or Yin Yang)

Check out http://www.eigenspace.net/wot/wot.html
This site shows graphics scanned from the novels.
You have the white and black sides reversed.
The two sides are always split vertically in WOT, with the tip of the white side pointing upward; that's why when show seperately they are described as "the white flame" and "the Dragon's fang".
