Possible Daimon Themes

That's suprisingly creepy....
water cooler- not exactly the most threatening with its limited hot or cold water attacks but somehow it manages to be popular to have at least one providing drinks for the party. 'Dude, this water is like totally mage-liscious.'

My ideas on this matter is to let lose a few daimon eggs in a museum. A full set of Japanese armour (with weapons of course), a set of European full plate and chain with broadsword or battle axe and a full set of lorica segmentata (ancient Roman armour) with gladius, pilum and scutum (shield).
That or let them loose in the dinosaur exhibits. The larger dinosaurs might be a bit big but some of the smaller theropods (velociraptor and its kin) would be just as dangerous in groups.
As for upper size limits for daimon possesion, the largest item a daimon has possessed (I think) is a convertible sports car so a battleship might be a bit big but a tank, while still on the large size is not beyond the realms of plausability. A fighter jet might be pushing it a bit.
Crossover ideas:
BGC: Hardsuits, ADP K-suits, Motoslaves or some combat boomers (BU-33C or BU-12b, or maybe even a Doberman. Scarier yet, a boomer equipped with fusion technology).

Due to the fact we never see a daimon actually take over a living (or prior living) thing, it maybe a bit hard to pull off. Looking at a skeleton of a raptor as an inanimate object however does grant the velociraptor idea merit.
Since the instinct of the animal died off with it's extinction, the only brain controlling it would be the daimon itself. And what I recall of them, that will take out a lot of the inherent danger with the velociraptor design.
Co-operation (as the raptors are shown to do in the Jurassic Park movies, which is what partly makes them so dangerous) isn't one of the daimon's strongpoints IIRC.
Bigger dino's would be too cumbersome. We never see a daimon take over anything truck-sized IIRC, so anything over that size would probably be less then effective against the general targets around these days (those being humans, which are considerably smaller then the actual prey the big dino's hunted).

We've seen them in wood objects on many occassions, and there's really no significant materials difference - it's all carbon.

Bigger dino's would be too cumbersome. We never see a daimon take over anything truck-sized IIRC, so anything over that size would probably be less then effective against the general targets around these days (those being humans, which are considerably smaller then the actual prey the big dino's hunted).

True, the big ones aren't very well-suited for the urban combat crystal-extraction that we see in the show. But imagine what those suckers could do in war.

Problem with the dinosaur bones is that they're just that, bones. I could have them resurrect the dinosaur to use........but usually, the daimons have a somewhat human appearance, if I recall correctly, and a skeleton wouldn't provide the best of cover, but I'm thinking it over.....

Anything a diamon takes over sprouts certain things to make it more recognizable. Add a head and legs to an ice-cream cart for instance. Seeing the dino's already have a head and legs, fleshening 'm out through however daimons do that seems rather simple in respect to adding certain limbs to inanimate objects.

Considering this I have to wonder what might happen were the Daimon to merge with a high power computer. Perhaps even the Mercury computer itself. Making the creature more intelligent could be the most dangerous thing of all.

Actually, a skeleton probably could be a very good defensive form. There is a toughness issue, but they fix that with magic anyway. And a skeleton's 'sparse bones' format would be a good deal harder to hit than say a tank - a lot of shots would go through without connecting.

Half the exhibits aren't even actually fossils these days anyway, they're plaster casts taken from molds made when the bones are cleaned and the actually bones themselves are kept behind the scenes for proper study.

You could always use the Manga Daimons, who were students drained of their souls that looked vaguely like swampthing.
You could always have a book daimon with powers similar to Yomiko Readman (Paper fighting power)
But you want ideas? think of different anything goes martial arts and adapt them to daimons. Tea Ceremony daimon. cheerleader daimons, and so on.

Do not forget: the size of a posessed object does not matter. The daimon does *always* turn out human-sized. And the *biggest* thing they posessed was a tram car, not a car. So, I think it's safe to assume that the fusion gives them a properties, not a power level of the object they fuse with.
Plus, don't forget: if you make the daimon too powerful, it will go out of your control. There was a precedent with that stupid witch, entrapped by daimon she created from too many ingredients.
