Question on Hotaru's School

This kind of supports my idea that hotaru might have been held back by her father. Happiness, love, and other "lighter" emotions seem almost like a poison to Misstress 9 when Hotaru feels them in the anime at least IMO.

Saying that though, it's shown briefly that she's already cast out and considered a freak due to her healing powers, amongst her classmates.

Remember Hotaru is suppose to be small and weak for her age, but it is shown in flash backs that she is not really noticeablely smaller then her class mates in the anime. The flash back in the anime was after she had 9 in her. 9 seems to come out and at least try to destroy what Hotaru likes. The gold fish Hotaru had is a good example.
Any way it would make her more of an outcast, class mates would be more likely to make fun of her, she would have a harder time fitting in, and knowing that she was held back, and few if any other were would be a downer by it's self.
There are also possible and reasonable official reasons that could easily be made for her not to be in the same grade as her age group.

You are thinking of Hotaru before Mugen Academy is destroyed. This topic is about the school she goes to after Mistress 9 and Pharoah 90 are removed from the picture.
If I'm reading the material I found correctly, after her accelerated growth from a baby, she's somewhere in the same ballpark as Chibiusa's age, and ends up in the same primary school. She's not yet grown enough to be placed in junior high.
...Which must be a real drag. She has to go through all that miserable school stuff twice!

I could see her starting to sympathize with Evangeline from Negima on that one...
Hotaru developing any similarity to Evangeline is a scary thought.

Probably not as weak, since she doesn't have M9 screwing with her innards anymore, but she'd still have about a decade with jack-all in the way of exercise to compensate for.
Of course, in a fight she can probably just load her power into her limbs and be freaky kinds of tough.

Hmm, that's probably more Ranma oriented than SM.

I know it's not quite canon, but I think I'm going to got with Hotaru being in either 7th or 8th grade, since it's after all of SM, which, theoretically, could have taken a year after Hotaru's entrance.
Back to slightly OT,
It depends if I keep Chibiusa in the plot or not. (Usa would be a year younger, school wise.) It's tempting not to, since having her in could spoil everything (a la The Best Of Times), unless I just use a variation of her not knowing, since...sigh....cliché alert....

Probably, and the fact that she doesn't have jack for melee combat training would kind of support her sticking to ranged combat... But it's pretty clear that the Senshi have at least some magic boosting their physical performance.

Blah, why not come up with something moderately original? Ie. memory deletion so she doesn't screw with stuff, or she just never heard of it (it's not like people in the future know every event that happened in their past - do you know when Napolean's third fart occurred?), the good old 'alternate timeline' route...
