Normally I don't post links to stuff like wallpaper, but Curtis sent me a link to this screenshot he took. I kinda felt sorry for him, though the story behind it DID make me laugh.

I think he was trying too hard to beat the game, personally.

...Yeeeaaah, doesn't look like I'll be watching PKR's streams anymore. :( She was playing Mega Man 11 earlier this month and was particularly upset at this boss that liked to teleport around the room. I gave my two cents, things escalated from there during the remainder of the stream, and it got to the point where I was being too aggravating/distracting, and I ended up getting slapped with a ban. Since then I've tried to apologize and request that the ban be removed, but I haven't heard anything back on that front.

But truth be told, I can't bring myself to be too upset: I was spending way too much time watching those things than was really healthy. Some of those streams lasted well past 2 in the morning (different time zones and that), and the longer-lasting ones tended to go on for 5-7 hours. All that time just sitting there staring at the screen, occasionally getting up to take care of some business or another but eventually making my way back to my chair. The whole incident was my fault anyway; I can admit that much. It's time I moved on.

So within the past three hours or so I decided to do something that I'll likely end up regretting later: joining our sister site's unofficial Discord server.

PKR? Who is that?

Also, sister site's discord server?

Also x2: Jury Duty is dumb and an absolute pain.

PinkKittyRose. Mentioned her on the last page. Self-proclaimed Canadian cat gamer. Plays a lot of Nintendo and indie games, but specializes in randomizers for Zelda: Link to the Past. Been posting videos on YouTube for almost a decade by now, though she hasn't been as active as she used to due to work and such.

And yeah, MSF has its own little unofficial Discord server now. Here's the link to it.

I'll take your word for it on the jury duty thing. I've yet to be selected for it.

...

Aaaand I just realized that Curtis never selected this Week's song. :x I'll have to amend that error later.

Is the Discord actually active?

As for Jury Duty, I had to go on Monday and Wednesday. I got on two diferent Jury orientation panels, but got stricken from both (Thankfully). This took from 8AM to 3PM. Massive waiting times and a big wait from noon to 1:30PM while the courthouse went on lunch break. Basically had to sit in a jury waiting room that was kinda warm.

On jury selection panels, you go to a small court room where the judge, attorneys, and defendant are situated, and they begin a process known as 'voir dire' where they ask questions and weed out people until they have the jury panel they want. Questions such as if the people can be unbiased, if they known anything about the case, etc.

I had to go back Wednesday, and I sat from 8AM to about 11:30AM until they came in and said we wouldn't be needed and could go home, since whatever case they were going to put us on had settled out of court. So almost four hours of waiting for nothing.

But hey, since we get paid $30 a day for every day we're there, I got paid $60 for mainly just sitting around.

People have actually been using it, yes. Granted its a small server, so it doesn't seem like there's much activity, but that's to be expected.

$60 for sitting around? Sounds a lot like Curtis's job.

At a bare minimum, you can use Discord as an IM alternative (or even as a Skype substitute). Some of us have ended up doing that after the majority of the services we used were either shut down or upgraded out of reach (gee, thanks, Microsoft...).

I can't say I'm sure why you'd equate Discord to Twitter, though, Lio. You'd certainly never catch me anywhere near Twitter. :D

Yeah, I've been using Discord a little bit recently. Just sparingly, though; I've had too many bad experiences with chat programs.
