Yeah, pretty much. Right or wrong, I've never been a fan of arguments and long-term discussions. In topics such as this, I've found that the best thing for me to do is to admit the other person has a valid point and leave it alone. :)

I consider that an example of "Let the Wookie win." One of my guiding philosophies.

Anything involving grownups watching a children's cartoon usually is, especially on the Internet.

Found an excellent MLP:FiM & Harry Potter Crossover. Main characters are the Cutie Mark Crusaders who are sent to Hogwarts by Discord. The fic is a lot of fun to read and once you've started you can't stop. 31 chapters so far

When the CMC asked Discord to help them attend magic school, he pulled an owl out of his hat. Only he didn't exactly have a hat. Which was okay, since their new school had a singing one laying around. Image by:Taneysha /art/Invitations-to-Hogwarts-560326040

The movie's at the theater here in town. To me, this is entirely unexpected: the local theater only operates on weekends, and even then it only shows one movie during those times, usually older stuff that was much more popular in their respective heydays (such as "The Princess Bride" or "The King's Speech"). I was expecting to have to wait a couple years.

In addition, the theater had closed down for several years because they couldn't afford to upgrade their stuff. The only reason the place's even open at all is because the local businesses take it upon themselves to sponsor anything that's being shown. (Funnily enough, MLP's being sponsored by one of the local law offices.) They don't put up new posters there or anything; only way anyone knows what's going on is if the marquee gets changed.

Undecided whether I want to see the movie, or to go with my initial plan and wait for it to hit store shelves.

I usually buy my movies on DVD or Bluray because then I can Watch them whenever I want to and as often I want to. Last film I've seen in the cinema was Casino Royal back in the day.

I don't go out, and haven't seen anything at a theater since '08, so I'll probably see it if it ever shows up on Netflix.

Funny story that's too short to really be much of one: my mother picked up an MLP toy from McDonalds and plans to give it to me. I've only mentioned MLP once or twice ever, so I'm surprised she remembered. Coincidentally, she got Rarity, the character I focus on in the fan-fic I'm writing, the only major one I'm working on right now and the same one that began my foray in the universe properly. Maybe it's a sign. (Probably not.)

That's actually pretty amusing. :)

I caved in and went to see the movie, though the whole process was its own story altogether. I don't think I'll be going back to that theater anytime soon; I just don't like the place.

A question. Is Equestria Girls considered canon?

As far as I know, it's one of those things that people are divided on. I personally believe it's the same continuity, since the movies clearly show a connection to more than one event in the TV series. I think the only thing stopping everyone from getting on board with that is the TV series not clearly having something from Equestria Girls. Although I'm sure that there are some who will reject a connection simply because they don't like Equestria Girls.
