Idea for a Ranma jumping off point. Kuno makes some kind of wish for everybody to see the world as he sees it. (presumably after somebody tried to explain that Ranma and the Pig-tailed girl are the same person)

As a result, instead of splitting Ranma and Ranko into separate people, everybody around them mentally disassociates male Ranma and female Ranma. So, for example, with the Tendo family, they really do think that Ranma-chan is their cousin who's visiting, Genma refuses to train 'Ranko' in the art because of his misogynistic views, Shampoo chases after Ranma-chan with "Ranma, I kill", etc.

So Ranma themself doesn't change, but how everybody perceives them does change.

Would anyone ever figure out why females within the Tendo home began getting spontaneous mini-orgasms one day? Genma would likely attribute it to ‘the Saotome manliness’ or some such. Kasumi… would she even bother to tell?

And what if Ranma, as a consequence of being force-fed that mushroom dish, began emitting compounds that caused orgasms in (some of) the opposite gender? Just had a mental image of Ranma landing from an Air Akane flight in the middle of a Senshi/youma fight which promptly dissolved because of both sides experiencing unexpected complications.

If he got it under control, that would be one hell of a power to have in a fight. Of course this begs the question of the difference between sex and gender. But if it went by -opposite- sex, I can just imagine: "Ranma, prepare to ... uh, uh, ahhhh!"

You then must decide if winning the battle is enough; winning the war might be difficult with a power like that. Hard to discourage the other side, and it might not work well in a mixed-sex attack.

I have not looked for any common/standard definitions for ‘sex’ v ‘gender’ so I go with ‘sex’ as the outside (how others see it) thing and ‘gender’ as the inside (how oneself sees it) thing.

Just one of these things that pop into my mind. What if… somewhere there were two entire Belldandies? For the rare unknowing that might stumble unto this page in the future, Belldandy is one of the Norns of Fate and the Goddess of the Present in the series Ah! My Goddess. Look for Verdandi in pages on Asatru to find who she is based on.

Would that ’verse overflow with cute? Especially if there was a fanon ‘hearth goddess’ Kasumi Tendo there as well?

I kinda want to write this but I need to rewatch the series and re-read the manga to get the exact differences down, but I've had this idea kicking around as a vehicle for the characters to comment on the differences between the manga and anime:

Hikaru Gosunkugi botches a ritual to erase Ranma from everyone's memories, and erases himself from everybody else's memories, except for Ranma, who remembers things differently. Like for starters, since when did their girl type have red hair?

A group is hit with a gender-changing curse. The parameters are that only one person in the group can hold the alternate gender and it’s always whoever triggered the curse most recently. Mind, no-one ever said there had to be only one trigger.
