Konsaki wrote:“Mr. Goldbeard…” Kitoria hesitantly spoke up to the shorter man who matched his family name. “I’ve got a few… concerns I’m hoping you can answer. First off is, will the lack of these ‘laser drills’ delay our purposed start time greatly? If it does, I might go looking for a few extra supplies before we embark.”
Turning her head and gaze towards the still rambling moogle, she gestured and further asked, “Secondly, who is she, exactly? Is she a part of the research team or the escort team? I’m leaning towards ‘research’ but you never know.”
“Finally… what about those things?” The blonde haired mithra woman inquired, waving a hand towards the gearbox lupine soldiers. “Are they going in there with us? I mean, last thing I’ve heard about clockwork soldiers was a story about them turning on each other and ripping each other to shreds. I’m not so sure I want to be anywhere near that, especially since you mentioned them exploding…”
Shaking his head, the dwarf says in no uncertain terms, "No, they will NOT be coming with us ... no, no ... NO!" He almost broke off from the mirtha to point right at the moogle before she could begin complaining. "They'll have the more important duty of ... guarding the passage in case something ... comes out ... "
He was rather floundering for words to put to soothing the moogle's quickly jaded nerves on the topic, but she seemed placated enough with that statement.
Turning back to the assembled, and Kitoria in particular. "This slows us down a moment, but not to worry ... somehow I figured this would happen. I'm going to go get ... the
machine ... "
Before a giant mouse appeared ...
"Ah ... our ... erm ... scouting and stealth expert?" He looked to Blair for a moment, hand on his hip as he studied her, "Well, get your gear in order, looks like this is everyone. I'll be back in a quick pop."
He strolled off for several minutes, returning to the sound of constant, but very soft motor humming. A large contraption was being guided via remote. A rather odd ... but wicked looking thing. Several long, flexible drill heads curled about the thing like some kind of wild hair. Rolling it right up to the door, the dwarf set to work.
"We've had all this calculated for awhile, the precise blasting spots, so nothing to worry about. Just let this beauty do some drilling and plant some charges, and we'll get right in."
The thing came to life with horrid whirring noises. Several of the drill heads beginning to bore into the rock at calculated points. A soft spray of water took away the dust and debris shunted off to the side as the thing went to work. Cutting out precise lengths for blasting explosives to go.
Some techies came along with heavy, magicka reinforced shielding. Setting up safe shelters from the blasts, and bringing up extra materials near the great temples doors. What pray tell would they do with those?
Goldbeard rubs his hands together with some odd mixture of glee as he watches the thing go to work.
