Fic-speriment: Sleeping with the Girls

Over on spacebattles, there has been a trend lately of people posting topic threads known as 'A(n) ______ for you.'

The general idea of these threads has been that you (the reader) have been plucked from home as you are and drop-kicked into another reality of fiction and paired off with a fictional female character. (Spacebattles male to female ratio is something like 3000/2) And by paired off, I mean, either her unconditional love, or married, or what-have-you. You retain whatever you know about said fictional reality, you know you've been punted, that world is your sandbox. What do you do?

An example of this would be 'An Azula for you.' "You have been dropkicked into Avatar tlAB. You're somehow betrothed to Azula. She's pretty much how she always is, save for an odd, undying love for you. Run with it." In slightly longer terms with some rules and stipulations.

So this got me thinking about a classic what-if of fanfiction. Self-insertion (Positum Ego Gratuitous). Something I occaisionally ponder is a what-if at night isn't what you'd expect.

What if you wake up somewhere in the bed of a fictional character (Female)? But here's the thing that seperates the idea. Nothing's happened. You woke up there, but you SHOULDN'T be there. Oh shi-

So I've begun this experimental fic. It explores and deconstructs a self-insertion FIASCO. What happens if you get drop-kicked into fiction as you really are in reality. No special powers, no skills you don't already have, no omni-charisma. Characters as in character as I can get. No character shields, no idea what I'm doing... This is not part of the Scenario. NOT AS PLANNED! OH SHI- OH SHI- PUT IT BACK!

The story is a multiple crossover that will get more convoluted as things continue. So far, the following I've picked up in just a week is enjoying the Kyon-esque internal monologue of my thoughts as I go.

And trust me, chapter four was painful.

It was vague, but then again. I knew how these guys got. Anything too exact might raise weird questions. Plus, if you wanted advice, well... NEVER ask Spacebattles for advice. At least, not where they know it as asking for advice.
