Before skimming through this thread I had never even heard of Nanoha, but now I'm so interested that I'm going to download it. You may have converted me into a fan! (We'll find out once it finishes downloading - in 3 days!)

One of the reasons I don't torrent  If I can't get it on a direct download, I don't watch it.
Still, I think you'll like it. And it's certainly worth the wait.

Prioritize the first episodes two or three at a time, then you can watch the episodes you've got while you wait for the others to finish.
Currently Watching: Gaiking: Legend of Daiku Maryu
Currently Playing: Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
Currently Reading: Sora no Otoshimono

You're in for a ride.

Do this if your torrent client allows it.

Oh, and Quattro is seriously messed.

EDIT: I've now finished StrikerS. To say that I'm impressed is an understatement.

Just finished watching the first 2 episodes, and I like what I've seen so far. It's nowhere near as cheesy as I feared it would be, and if it gets as good as everyone's saying, than I'm a new fan.

One impressive thing about the Nanoha series (I've watched all 3 seasons over the past three weeks) is the fact that the story evolves. Nanoha is pretty much standard magical girl fare, if very well done. In Nanoha StrikerS, the story is as much about the unit (both as a unit and as a group of people in a unit) as it is about the original cast members. It also tends to have very sympathetic 'villain' characters, at least in the first two seasons. Fate and the Wolkenritter were very well developed. The villains in StrikerS didn't get enough screen time out of battles to really develop.

I also like how the traditional magical girl transformations are there, but not always shown. After season one, they're only used once or twice per character in a season. It shows that they have enough story to proceed without pure fanservice filler.

One thing about StrikerS that didn't make sense was why Arf had such little screen time. Why would Fate's familiar not be working with Fate? It was never explained.

When I first saw Bardiche Zanber, what came into my mind was "Isn't that Minister Remington's cross blade?". Ewen's is blue while Fate's is gold, but they look similar. Come to think of it, in vol 7 of the Chrono Crusade manga, when Rosette first uses the tetragrammaton, a huge seal appears in front of the gun, a cross centered in a circle, looking sort of like a simplified version of the diagrams that appear when Nanoha mages use powerful spells. Was the Elder reverse engineering Mid-Childan technology?

This bears looking into, as a CROSSOVER!
There are times for magic, there are time for martial arts, and there are times for giant Tiger-Dragon Robots that have both.
Beware the Otaku. He commands a mech that can unleash 123632 gigatons. Thats the equivalent of shooting Chicago, and knocking down ever building from Colorado to Maine.

Perhaps. It doesn't really fit well into the CC crossover I'm writing, but maybe someone else can find a plotline to work around the coincidence. Maybe the destruction of the Banmaden homeworld was Lost Logia related?

Of course, the destruction of the Banmaden homeworld predates the founding of the TSAB by at least 10,000 years, and the main CC story predates Nanoha's birth by about 70 years (Assuming that Nanoha's Earth and Sinner Chrono's Earth are the same). That makes some things a little tricky.

Sorry if this is on the wrong subject, or something like that, but I just found this little gem. 185 StrikerS 4-koma. You may want to check it out.

Nanoha crosses are easy, with all the planer travel.
I had an an idea for a SM/Nanoha cross where Vivio goes to school with Hotaru.......

Perhaps not so easy as you think.

In this case, it would be somewhat problematic for Vivio to suddenly start attending a school on Earth. Vivio's not likely to leave Mid-Childa unless Fate and Nanoha are both gone on a long-term assignment. Assuming that said assignment (let's assume the TSAB has taken an interest in Pharaoh 90's activities) takes them to Earth (which makes a certain amount of sense, since Nanoha knows the territory pretty well), Vivio would probably be attending a school in Uminari City, not in Tokyo.

Still, you have a point; the presence of the multiverse in Nanoha makes crossovers easy to pull off. Good crossovers, on the other hand, now that's a different story entirely.

That's always a case. And applies to all writing, not just crossovers. Heh, it seems sometimes that the 'easier' a series is to crossover or the more 'popular' it is the greater the chance of bad stories flooding the net. -_-;

Hmm...

...Anyways, I watched the first episode of StrikerS about a month or so ago. It's alright, I guess---I don't really have anything major against it---but I don't think I could take the time to watch the rest of it. Time's always an issue with me, and I already have some other things to work on, anyway. 8)

That's probably just as well, Wildcat. From what you've told me about your tastes in anime and general dislikes, I don't think you'd care much for the transformation sequences in Nanoha Classic; they're somewhat off-putting until you get used to them. All you Nanoha veterans out there can probably vouch for this as well.
