The 'abusive, idiotic Genma' cliché is used very well in Way of the Ninjitsu. So is 'Unstoppable Nekoken', as is the ridiculous cliché/fabrication of Swordmistress Nodoka.
'Eeeeevil old bitch Cologne' is a major force in Hearts of Ice, but it's handled excellently.
A Bengal Tale features a Ranma who'd rather face falling into the Nekoken than wear girls' clothes.
The More Things Change & The Pursuit of Happiness have the cliché of Ryoga being able to travel the world while lost, and the cliché that once Ranma and Akane get together, Ryoga and Ukyo will inevitably fall for one another. And they're made to work brilliantly.
