Point. But I'm also alarge fan of...I guess you could say, stories where there's no "character goes through hell". I prefer happiness
As you may be able to tell by my avatar and overall 'theme', I
am a fan of stories where a character goes through hell, so I didn't really like Genma's Daughter. I can appreciate that it's well written, and is actually a good fic, but it doesn't do anything for me.
the main problem is that the crosslinking if loosing integrity.
I mean most of times the authors I know host their stories and little in the way of more.
I kinda miss the good old shrines and circles.
It is a problem, certainly. It's becoming increasingly difficult to find older fics that aren't on FF.net or mediaminer, precisely because those fics are old, and the authours are no longer active or maintaining their sites.
It also doesn't help that people are becoming 'used' to having something like FF.net as a repository. I mean, I only found it maybe a year after I got into reading fics, and I find that now I'm 'loosing my touch' when I need to search for a fic that isn't on FF.net, although it doesn't help that many of the sites that I would use are no longer active.
As for my classic;
Hearts Healing, if for nothing more than to see Ryoko beat the Amazons, who truely are not nice people.
