Oh shoot, now I remember drawing that.

I'm rather happy with how well that pose turned out, especially when it was done a long while back.

I'd forgotten when exactly it was done... hey Curtis, mind checking for me?

"Sure, just a sec. ... ...Based on a link I found in an old thread at MSF, I want to say it was finished in late March, early April of 2016."

Looking at my old art is always a trip and a half.

My old art is better than my recent art, and definitely better than my very old art. I think I hit my peak in the Sixties. But I save things, so I can look at all of that art whenever I want.

"I still have some old high school drawings that I haven't had the heart to throw away. Maybe I ought to scan those in at some point...

"I like to think my own artistic peak was reached around the time I was in college in the early 2000s, but that's not really saying much. This drawing of Konoko I did some years back? That's about as far as I can go, and I don't see myself improving anytime soon.

"My abilities are a haphazard combination of years of random drawings and whatever I was able to glean from my brother's art book. I forget what the book was called, who wrote it. I just remember that it focused on two characters: an aspiring artist who was willing to improve, and a stage magician who knew all sorts of tricks to help him do that."

Here's a cover I did for CAPA-Alpha back in the Eighties.

I'd say that effort looks nice all-around, and wow that guy strikes me as egotistical.

He was supposed to look egotistical. Now Bears In Space, the bears were not - although you have to be familiar with the legend of the Intergalactic Squash. None can escape the vengeance of the Intergalactic Squash. (He came from the Funny Vegetables period of Minneapolis fandom.)

It's easy to see how your work's improved over the years. That one's several steps up from some of your older stuff that I've seen, but still a bit behind your most recent art.

Hey, Konoko? ...Or Brisk, or... whatever it is that you're calling yourself nowadays?...

"Now you've got me craving fruit punch. Thanks, Aldonza."

:x Disregarding Curtis' random comment... *recovers* Er-hem. I hesitate to ask you this since you probably have other stuff you're dealing with, but if Curtis gave you the details, would you be willing to provide an updated picture of Ambush's kid? ...I understand if you don't want to. It's just something I figured I'd ask. :?

Sorry. I've been having trouble these days getting up the motivation to do art in general. I can get things done here and there, but it comes a lot more in spurts at the moment, and I tend to have more of a focus on the things I already want to draw or have ideas for.

As such, I'd have to decline.

You've already seen this one, Konoko, so this is more for the public at large: courtesy of EvanRank at DeviantArt, here's a scene from Curtis's story "Manehattan's Lone Guardian". Gray Ghost (a.k.a. ponified Ambush Cat) is having a staredown with a fish.
