Isn't this Neko-'s lucky day.

No pictures of DES until either I find a new photo host or photobucket decides to relent on the US $399.00/year it has suddenly decided to charge to allow 3rd party hosting.

Though I note Neko-, too, needs to find a new photo host for his avatar.

Kinda figured something was up when his avatar didn't show up as advertised.

Yeah... pB decided 3rd party hosting was not bringing in cash and only cost them bandwidth...

Already sent them a mail on Friday to get some confirmation, but is PB only allows for hosting of pictures online, with no means to do anything with them (ie sharing them on forums or anywhere else in my case), then I'm liable to just kill off my account there completely, trash all the oictures hosted, and find a new hosting party that'll allow me to properly host my pictures.

Not coughing up 400 dollars a year to just be able to show pictures on other sites than PB.

PhotoBucket sent an e-mail out on June 28th saying up grade to paid ( $399.00/yr) or else.

Do you have a paid account or a free one, as I do? ( and have had for at least 12 years)

Up until Thursday my account was 2GB of space for free and according to PB I've only used 13%.

I noticed pictures disappearing and replaced with an up grade note on June 30.

Can you, or anyone else see any of my pictures in this thread or in the fan art forum?

The links are still there, but no image on the thread. But I've got images from pb and none of them have been effected and I never have received any emails.

Try clicking on the links for my pictures - do you see any pictures?

PhotoBucket Terms of Service wrote:Types of Accounts, Pricing and Limits

Visiting : There is no cost to visit the Site or to register as a Member.

Free account : Each individual Member gets one free account that provides 2 GB of free storage or space available for your original photo files, or videos under 10min. The free account does not allow any image linking or 3rd party image hosting. If a free account Member exceeds their Content Limit, their account will be immediately suspended and they will need to become a “Paying Member” (defined below) in order to continue accessing their account. You can upgrade to a Plus account at any time.

Ad-free Account : The Ad-free Account offers Members the ability to use the Site without seeing any third party banner advertisements when logged into your Ad-free Account (note, viewers of your images within Photobucket will see ads unless they, too, have Plus accounts and you will continue to see Photobucket offers and announcements). This account level is available for $2.49 / month, payable by the Member on a monthly recurring basis.

Plus Account : The Plus Account offers several paid options that may give the Paying Member more storage, bandwidth, 3rd party image hosting, image linking and/or other services as outlined below. Once and during such period of time in which you subscribe to and pay for a Plus Account, we will consider you a "Paying Member." Please note that all Plus Account subscriptions are billed annually at the commencement of the service. Photobucket may also offer a monthly billing option for its Plus Accounts (see terms and restrictions, below).

Available Plus Account Plans : Photobucket offers the following Plus Account Plans:

o Plus 50 Plan: 52 GB of Storage for $59.99 / Year. The Plus 50 Plan does not allow any image linking or 3rd party image hosting.

o Plus 100 Plan: 102 GB of Storage for $99.99 / Year. The Plus 100 Plan allows for unlimited image linking but does not allow 3rd party image hosting.

o Plus 500 Plan: 500 GB of Storage and unlimited bandwidth for $399.99 / Year. The Plus 500 Plan allows for unlimited image linking and unlimited 3rd party image hosting.

So unless you get the platinum gold plated service of $400/year you can't show your pictures on other sites.

I normally use Imageshack, but I've noticed pictures in my account disappearing after they've been up for a number of years.

I keep a few pictures at Photobucket, but nothing that I've needed to link to in the Villes in at least five years.

Nevr got an email. Just noticed Friday morning, linked pics had died.

In the past they did limit the amount of storagespace, and even the amount of usable bandwidth on the free account, to get you to pay, but that seemingly isn't enough no more: http://www.photobucket.com/p500/

I click on the links and redirect to the image but 10 seconds later the image gets overlayed with a full screen ad I haven't found a work around or bypass for yet...which is illegal btw

***UPDATE!!!***
Found a small work around, seems they've locked the images for your account to private
