Paying Your Just Respect

Aretha Franklin died today due to pancreatic cancer. She was 76.

Aside from the song alluded to in the subject line I never heard much of her music. I have a vague remembrance of her being part of a Harmony House* advertisement that aired in the 90s, but that's it.

Also, my key memory of "Respect" (I think it was the first time I heard the song, but don't quote me on that) was when it turned up in a Tiny Toons Adventures episode.

* - Harmony House was a small music store chain that served the counties surrounding Detroit for almost 60 years.
