People up in Pontiac, Michigan attempted to blow up the Silverdome recently as part of the demolition process. They'd been wanting to tear down the place for a good while, from what I understand.

Of course, the key word is attempted. I have a bit of a history with the Silverdome, so I had to laugh at what transpired.

And with 10% of the explosives not going off... Yeah, haul out the heavy machinery

There are jobs nobody with any sense would take. Demolishing the post-"demolition" Silverdome is high on the list. Talk about tickling a sleeping avalanche!

2nd attempt brought the thing down. It is no more...

I'm a bit sad that the place wasn't open for business longer, but eh... it was nice while it lasted. Still got my memories at least.
