Just in case someone should feel an urge to read some old horror stories.

If you end up learning something new, please do not blame the author, who is long deceased anyway.

https://archive.org/details/catmanual00whitgoog — "The Cat Manual" by Dick Whittington is for folk that fancy themselves as cat breeders. It also has description (more like prescriptions) of some fancy cats, and photos of a few.

https://archive.org/details/quelle-katalog-newyear-1955 — A sixty-eight-year-old German mail-order catalogue. There are no brides, but most of what else you need for house and home.

If nothing else, you can get an idea of what German mid-1950s fashion looked like. It is also, I believe, one of Quelle's last catalogues with both photographed and hand-drawn pictures.

The book also has a description of the game and a short summary of the game rules. It won't make me a baseball fan, but it gives me a wee bit more understanding of this apparent muddle of balls, bats and numbers.

I don't often look at what's brought up from scholar.archive.org, but this time I did. This book is about the part of US history that was the Pacific coastal shipping in the area and period mentioned.

Here is a three-volume tome written by a guy named Michael Prætorius; composer, organist and musicologist.

https://archive.org/details/SyntagmaMusicumBd.11615 — Vol.1, written in Latin.
https://archive.org/details/SyntagmaMusicumBd.21619 — Vol.2, written in German.
https://archive.org/details/SyntagmaMusicumBd.31619 — Vol.3, written in German.

These are seventeenth-century books, by the way.

Yeah, it's about violins, written by an obvious violin otaku.

So here is a book on putting together the best lighting for your situation. It's from 1992 so not hyper-modern.
