Just bear with it long enough to take a look, then imagine it with a face and punch it.

The default text size and the spacing are worse, as is the coloring of elements and how little they differ, and it's even worse if you happen to prefer the dark contrast when reading stories (like I do). And now I can't see anything in my profile by date: the only "option" is alphabetical, starting with numbers and ending in lower case letters, so now I have to look carefully at the dates instead of just scrolling to the end to see what's new.

But, let me guess: this change is for mobile devices, isn't it? I'd swear that they were the cause of all the world's ails if not for what little common sense I have.

Urgh, hadn´t noticed the changes to user profile and menu... Try opening traffic stats. Damn thing slowed down my computer so badly it´s horrible. And the stupid left side menu, everytime you select something, it jumps you to the top, even if that means that whatever you selected ends up outside of what´s visible. Oh the stupidity...

and it's even worse if you happen to prefer the dark contrast when reading stories (like I do)

And anyone SHOULD do, because it´s much better for your eyes.

Wouldn´t surprise me one bit.

But really, if the stats thing isn´t fixed, it is effectively no longer functional. I have a fairly high performance system and it almost killed usability on the system as a whole? That´s just insane. That means it´s either badly coded or has bugs.

They have a specific mobile version, so no.

It could have fooled me, to be honest. It seems to be geared more toward something with a touchscreen, but that might just be me.

If you want to see the mobile version just put 'm' in place of 'www'.

For the dark version it looks like they primarily messed up with the text color for links and story information. Most likely an oversight.

Dammit! I just opened it up!

Hey ff dot net... STOP TRYING TO BE LIKE FACEBOOK AND STOP MESSING WITH THINGS!

-meanwhile at ff dot net central control...

"Hey I know, let's change the font, the display, and mess with features."

"That's a great idea!"

"Whoo! I'm sure people will love it!"

I blame tablet users for the current font change. Went to the normal version on my phone and it's far more readable now.

Ugh what the fuck, the text is all blurry now. I get a headache just from two seconds looking at it.

Hmmm... unless they changed it again since this morning, it does not look too bad... but it is not an improvment font slightly bigger, adverts, slightly more space, controls, slightly bigger, dropdown boxes, slightly cruder.

What annoys me though is they messed with the format of the ATOM feeds, because of that, every last one of them is showing as updated.

It would be fine if they added info... but instead they took away the category descriptors...

-can't sort story stats

-story stats don't fit the screen box thing.

-doesn't highlight new pm.

A quick check of the source on one of the profile pages while checking for something else someone was asking on a different forum shows there are Android and Chrome checks in there... I did not look too closely to see what all is in there though.

Additionally, I notice FanFiction.NET is using some Google Webfonts and Google APIs.
