Something for the season…

Maybe Karlakór Reykjavíkur (Reykjavík Men’s Choir) isn’t quite as colourful as the Sarges above, but they do their stuff quite well, ta berry much. ’Sides, an old schoolmate of mine sings with them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac9rDze6Ry8 – Alta Trinità Beata
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45oSIwNx53o – Hátíð fer að höndum ein
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN_pDzfS5WM – Það aldin út er sprungið
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9kLywp1PVU – Þakkarbæn

The last one is very much a seasonal favourite of mine.

http://www.ruv.is/frett/jol – I hope you can listen to this tune. It is among the best Christmas tunes I have ever heard.

Huh, didn´t recognise the name at all, but the music, well that took a second or less to know which it was...

If a power ballad is one with bags of power, this is a power ballad.

I seem not to have mentioned this one before. The artist is Ásgeir Trausti, the song is „Dýrð í dauðaþögn“ (lit. “Glory In Deathly Silence”).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGJ3aCCCAxc — A version with the lyrics in Icelandic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12OWbh2HLVo — An almost-live version. Would likely look livelier with a drum line of Ranma-chans.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4Ao-iNPPUc — And that is Steve’n’Seagulls playing AC/DC’s Thunderstruck. If you think hard rock bluegrass is weird, this lot will outweird you. Or weird you out. Either way, they rock.

I have too many favorites from his catalogue to speak of, but this one in particular always struck a chord in me.

Not top of my list exactly, but it's still GOOD.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaj4_uo-CVA — Myrkur og mandarínur (Darkness and Mandarines)
The lines “Mandarine scent in my nose, / mandarine taste of your throat. / Let’s let decorating the tree wait a while.” remind me somewhat of Haruka and Michiru.
