Favourite songs v2.0

Postby Dumbledork » Sun Dec 02, 2012 9:11 am

My interest in new music mostly stopped in 2000, but since then there have been a few songs each year that I actuall liked. Here's my like list for 2012 (it is rather short, I know)

Psy - Gangnam Style
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0

Loreen - Euphoria
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcnWysA9gxo

Tacabro - Tacatà
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJ-CmHZrKHU

Wisin & Yandel feat. Jennifer Lopez - Follow The Leader
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xmap94TcDNs

Alex Clare - Too close
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zP50Ewh31E4

Fun feat. Janelle Monae - We Are Young
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv6dMFF_yts

Linkin Park - Burn It Down
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxytyRy-O1k

Die Toten Hosen - Tage wie diese
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j09hpp3AxIE
And that's the bottom line 'cause Dumbledork said so.

Naturally Psy's song would be on the list since I think most everyone finds it too weird not to love. Hm.. you know I really don't have any favorite songs I can think of at the moment that aren't around a decade or so old.

That's not a problem. This topic is not restrictive just like the old one. Just post any music you like.

Is that one from a videogame?

Well then, how about this one? I played this game a lot back in the 80s on the MSX: Knightmare. It's still one of the best videogame songs ever. First you have the original soundtrack, then an excellent remix and last a video of the gameplay.

Several old favorites from my childhood years:

Pet Shop Boys - What Have I Done To Deserve This?

Depche Mode - Enjoy the Silence

The Bangles - Hazy Shade of Winter

Material Issue - Valerie Loves Me

Several from my teenage years:

Tevin Campbell - Eye to Eye

Scatman John - Scatman

New Order - Blue Monday

Sonic CD (USA) - Stardust Speedway (Bad Future)

And several from beyond:

Dan Castellaneta - So Dumb (Homer's Lament)

Rappy McRapperson - Bill and Ted (Fight the Gorlax) [Not recommended for sane minds]

Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory Opening theme

Fantasy Explorer Nitroid - World Four BGM

Witness how my tastes have mutated. ()^_^

Curtis's perspective is a little flipped at the present time. Until he finishes what I want him to do, you'll just have to put up with little ol' me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EExvEF2zudA -- "Motor Man Keikyu VVVF" by Super Bell"Z. The main theme is the scale 'played' by the VVVF units in the Keikyu 2100 trains. A fun act to watch, too.

These are my only bookmarked ones right now. Really.

I don't like songs with words much. More of a soundtrack listener. That's why I often say I don't like music. It's easier to explain than I just like theme songs.

Chances are you might like this, then: "Trans Europa Express" by Kraftwerk. It's mostly melody, and this vid has some gorge TEE clips, including cockpit shots.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbBEg7cL9rs -- The wikipage for „Fröken Fräken“ said that the tune has been sung in many languages, including Icelandic. That much is true, and the proof lies behind that Youtube link.
