"DC-3 on Floats"

The coolest mod I ever saw! :D
Our favorite, the one and only host of our national version of "Wheel of fortune" likes to fly DC-3 or its Li-2 clone (or anything that flies, really). Recently, he had participated in a TV documentary about controlling planes in general and modern planes in particular. I have a sinking suspicion having him at controls is safer than any professional pilot -- because he knows flying, not working the computer that flies the plane. him landing a 737 Max in a simulation scenario with both engines failed.

And now for an obscure late 70s Soviet cartoon (based on a book published in 1937)

Unconventional indeed!!! And with the dog followup, made me wonder if there's any connection to Inspector Gadget.
Some nice visual puns, just a pity my Russian amounts to about 5 words or something.

Cat.whatever - Kai Tak Heart Attack approach to runway 13. That airport is closed nowadays, so no more heart attacks for pilots no more.

Totally neat — the auralisation, too.

Anyway, you know that remote airports tend to be… interesting. Here is Ísafjörður (BIIS) again:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N831tlDKS7c — Direct to 26. (Seen from outside)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QbWCB8AzLA — Circling to 08.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhSuRyG4rbE — Direct to 08. Only shot in very good weather.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8C2NlRLt58 — Crooked to 08. Also a good-weather approach.

Akureyri (BIAR):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4tI2eT5VAY — Direct to 01.

Vestmannaeyjar (BIVM):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_z65YEAltgg — Circling to 22.

Over to the Orkneys:

Norway:

Odd. I thought Youtube did not admit pr0n. Because the way these Mirages fly and dance is 150% aviation pr0n.

Think “Miracle on the Hudson”. The bit below I just had to write today after hearing “Teterboro Tower”.

Can you tell me, gentlemen, where a runway’s to be found?”

It's your own fault. You forced me to do this. Nonon Jakuzure Attacks from Kill La Kill.

Sorry it's a dub, and rather edited; but this version had the most of it.

But - but - it's one of the few cartoons with more violence than Tom and Jerry. Gotta love that. Strangely enough, the insane plot makes a kind of twisted sense at the end.
