So Viz has announced that they're Re-releasing the Ranma 1/2 anime, which will be coming to Neon Alley, Blu-ray, and DVD. Not to mention there's reprints of the manga and some Ranma programming scheduled for the upcoming New York Comic Con.

Omnibuses seem to be cropping up a lot lately, so I wonder if they're going to do that with Ranma 1/2 if they haven't already (I haven't been keeping track).

Of course, I'd rather Takahashi and Takeuchi get together for a joint project.

Why? So they could bastardize more content trying to appeal to the widest audience?

I'd be interested in getting some non-xerox copied manga volumes. Digital copies a plus.

Good. Its good enough that it needs a chance for another generation of fans. :D

The XYZ generation. The one that is getting so damned pampered it´s going to need LOTS of help to get anywhere?

Now, the question is if you´ve seen the right series and understand the joke.

If I say, "I rarely watch anything on TV," would that lay your question to rest? XD

Would that even reveal which generation I'm from? :P

As for Ranma 1/2, I'm more or less in agreement with Lawra. It's bad enough that the original anime itself was lackluster (in my opinion, anyway), much less what we got when it was distributed in English. To be fair, by now I think any new anime would have a better chance of turning out alright from both ends, but I wouldn't get my hopes up or hold my breath.

"XYZ" is from City Hunter/Angel Heart, it´s basically the code used to ask for help.

And no matter how lackluster the anime is, the series still has lots of fun stuff and it´s not bad per se...

X and Y are common enough in humans, but where did you get that Z chromosome? They're almost never found in mammals.

Well, maybe in fans ...

Perhaps I should have stuck my tongue out?

The point having been that Ranma is a person/manga/anime with a fugitive Y chromosome -- sometimes XX, sometimes XY. Z chromosomes are more likely to be found in birds and reptiles.

Wow, they are all overlapping. Seriously, everything after baby boomers is a mess! Where does x end? Y begin? And z? Do confusing!

And they finished inuyasha, why can't they make a movie like final for the last two books? I would watch it.

Mouse is a bird sometimes. :P

*doh* Double whammy of "oops" i guess. I´d totally forgotten about ZW chromosome stuff.

There is a game where one person writes (say) the first three words of a sentence on a strip of paper. The strip is folded to obscure the first word, and it's handed to the second person, who writes another word on the end, then folds the strip to obscure the first two words. The paper goes around in a circle for quite some time. Then the paper is unfolded and the resulting 'sentence' is read aloud. Hilarity ensues.

Sometimes Fukufic discussions are like that. Often.
