I'm super torn.

11 years ago, I first played Halo while at summer camp. I was hooked and really got into video games then. Bought an Xbox just to play Halo. Bought Halo 2. Got 360 as a gift and played 3 and reach and 4.

But now... With Microsoft being stupidly evil... I don't know if I can do it... Halo is WHY I play games. I don't actually play many besides it. But the 1984 like policy, the steep price... It just makes me cry.

What should I do? Is it worth it? Do I just give up on Halo, thus gaming altogether?

I prety much avoid consoles these days. If I pay good money for the thing I should be the one to decide what can or can't be installed on it, not microsoft/sony/nintendo. I avoid the iApples for the same reason.

XBOX One looks like it´s going to be as big a flop as Win8. Expensive, restrictive and not as good hardware as the PS4(and from what is said so far, PS4 will be a lot cheaper as well).

Is it worth it?

At the very least I would hold off on buying it when it comes out, and see how things develop. Things could change in a good way by then, and it might even save you money if you wait long enough for the price to drop.

I seriously don't play many games. Or have. I just can't enjoy them much. If it isn't Star Wars or Halo, I don't really even bother. COD? I tried, didn't liker it. Gears? Nope... I just can't get into it...

If Microsoft continues to be stupid, then Deadpool might be the last game I buy...

Tried Star Wars Rebellion? While i wish it was better in oh so many ways, it´s still one of few games i still go back and play, even if heavily modded normally.

They might be pushed into doing it when "One" fails to sell.

You might get lucky, but i would not expect or count on it. Way too strict on the crappy limitations nowadays.

Mmm, i actually managed to make the Tie Fighter Wars(basically the original game plus an extra campaign(or was it 2?) and stuff) run on this system so i can play it if i want. Misplaced the key sheet though so i´ll have to find that before i play seriously again if i want.

I have some papers somewhere on which i have written down where to mod stuff for the crafts and missions...
Having a T/F that tops out at 150 instead of 100, has shields, jamming or tractor beam and advanced missiles can be fun. And once i modded a mission so that instead of a couple of cruisers fighting each other, it was 4 ISD vs 4 Mon Calamari heavies. That was, amusing.
Giving the Missile boat double missile load and upping base speed is also of the "amusing".

The latter X-wing vs Tie-fighter was also kinda fun since you could run pretty good multiplayer with it.

Nope. Though I'll probably get a PS4, eventually (while my brother is, apparently, going to pre-order it, I'll wait at least a year so that any bugs it may have will have been worked out).
