I haven't played it yet, but if it's anything like the AS/OR "special demo," you may be able to earn some items (or something) to carry over to the full game. All I've heard about the demo, really, is that you get to run around with Ash-Greninja. So... yay?

The Genesect distribution for all Gen 6 games has begun. You'll need to go to GameStop for the single-use code cards, however.

I'm thinking I may hold off on getting Pokemon Moon until the start of next month. I have an in-hospital sleep test in a few weeks, and I'm not sure how much of it my insurance will cover, so I want to keep an eye on my finances. Those things are expensive.

Health comes first, of course.

You probably won't miss out on anything, anyway, except a special distribution or two (and if you've played the demo, you'll already be getting the Greninja, for whatever good it does (it counts as a traded Pokemon, right?)), which you can likely have traded to you later.

Eh, I'm missing out on Ash-Greninja too, sadly. I opted not to get the demo.

Hmm, you're just one post short of 30,000 as I'm typing this. Spok has 17,285 more, though. :/

There really doesn't seem to be much special about the Greninja from the demo. I'm guessing it counts as traded, and you'd probably end up easily leveling it out of obedience range without really trying.

And scratch that: I ended up with the demo anyway. I was running my spare 2DS, the gift icon appeared, and I thought "why not?"

For those with Sun/Moon (I went ahead and picked Moon, for no real reason; the clerks were trying to convince me to buy BOTH...), the first Mystery Gift distribution is now active.

Anyway, I've been playing the Moon version. Pokedex is almost complete, and I'm going to see what I can do about working up a halfway decent team for the Battle Tree.

Bleah. Events for Sun/Moon are so few and far between, that I almost completely forgot to keep an eye out for anything happening.

Anyway, a Mystery Gift distribution is now active, which will give you the Mega Stones for Houndoom, Heracross, Steelix and Pidgeot. The code for this distribution is "AZUL".

Beginning May 15, in the US, you should be able to visit a GameStop for a code card to get a Lycanroc. (The distribution will end June 5th... but if past GameStop distributions are any indication, they'll probably run out of cards LONG before the end-date. So, get yours while you can.)

The next main-series games have been announced - Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon. Little is known about them at this time. Also, Pokken Tournament DX has been announced for the Switch, and Gold and Silver (but not Crystal, at this time) will be available for the 3DS Virtual Console library.

From what I understand, they're supposed to be to Sun and Moon what Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were to the 3rd Gen games. Gives me an excuse to put my collection binging to work again, so I won't complain.

Apparently, there's a new Mystery Gift available now for all Sun/Moon players - a shiny Tapu Koko. It will be available until August 14th.

There's a Salazzle event distribution currently taking place at GameStops, from 8/14 to 9/4. (Code card only.)

Apparently, there will be an event later this year where you can get a Rockruff that can evolve into Lycanroc Dusk Form. (11/17 - 01/10/18)
