I got the Pokedex 3D pro. Well I bought it last week, but it took a week to download cause I did the download later. Anyway it pronounces all the Pokemon names. I'm surprised how many I've been pronouncing wrong.

I usually just rely on the anime to set me straight. Some of the names of the 3rd Gen Mons, such as Mightyena, annoyed me until I could actually hear them used.

Well I just found out something I wish I knew earlier. In B2/W2,You don't need badges for HM Move, if you have a Pokemon with the move you can use it.

That confirms something I found out recently when my character was in Castelia City. One of the people there offers information on the badges; I asked about some of them, but the guy told me only the level limits of traded Pokemon that would obey me and nothing more.

Yeah it's cause of him I decided to send a HM slave from my Black, to White 2. I used Surf before I got the HM and Waterfall.

You realize that every Pokemon tends to be like that to some extent, yes? Ivysaur is simply Ivy + Dinosaur. Blastoise is Blast + Tortoise. Mewtwo is just Mew + Two. So many Pokemon are pretty much just combinations of two words that describe them in various ways.

Even the Japanese names typically combine just a couple of words into one. Snivy's Japanese name is Tsutarja, combining tsuta (A Japanese ivy) and ja (Apparently another word for snake)

Ivysaur's Japanese name is literally a combination that makes its name translate to 'Strange Grass'. Let's not forget that Articuno is Freezer, Zapdos is Thunder, and Moltres is Fire.

At the end of a Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 trailer being aired in Japan, a teaser cropped up, being shared around the internet through Twitter, at the end and has stated that the next big news regarding Pokémon will be revealed on January 8th 2013. It's currently unknown what this news is, whether it's related to current games, such as a new WiFi event or if it's a new game reveal.

So I watched the Pokemon Direct video of the big announcement.

Gen VI of Pokemon is coming: A simultaneous release around the world in October.

The games are in full 3D, but it looks lovely and still in the style of Pokemon

The games are named Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

The starters appear to be a grass squirrel/chipmunk, a fire fox, and a water frog.

I knew Nintendo would eventually get away from releasing games on the DS DSLite DSi and DSi XL. It appears that they are only going to be available for 3DS and 3DS XL. It looks cool so far!

And it's based on a fennec fox to boot. I think I like the new fire starter already.
