(shrugs) Wouldn’t know. The only anime that appears on the telly here is kiddy and sub-teen schtuff from the US and maybe UK. The Abyssals could have their own Cockney/Ebonics slang, for all I know.

You know perhaps that Xander no-middle-name-admitted Harris dressed as a soldier on That Halloween. A US Army soldier, presumably. AFAIK, no-one has made him a Naval captain or commodore (aka flotilla admiral). And I’m quite sure no-one has had him go “Why me?” because a bunch of cute girls were claiming him as ‘their admiral’.

I read somewhere that ‘admiral’ came from Arabic: Ruler of the sea. Or somesuch. Weirdly, there is an Icelandic term for admiral: Flotaforingi. It translates as ‘fleet leader’. Apt, right?

Rorschach's Blot gave Harry Potter an Acme curse (he could use it, he wasn't cursed by it) in Make A Wish. First showed up in Chapter 38. There was much merriment.

This was the first of his Mr. Black stories. Great fun, but you do have to suspend your disbelief.

One night, someone at Hogwarts hears unusually many distant whoosh sounds high up in the sky where no brooms dare go, followed by bursts of splats from circabout the Quidditch field. The morning after, there is much commotion when discovers field and bleachers covered in multi-coloured paint splatters. There will of course be much speculation over who committed this sacrilege.

It probably has been done in some way or other, but here is an idea that has popped up in my mind a few times:

A city is bombed for hours overnight (as happened to many cities in WW2). In the morning, everyone wakes up to the city being just as untouched by bombs as the day before. So, what happened? Was it a city-wide nightmare? Something worse? Weirder?
