Negima crossover/self-inserts, no immediate ubers

Okay, just out of curiosity, are there any decent Negima self-inserts or crossovers where the character joins 3-A but doesn't (at least, for some time) become uber in some way, right away (even with a Pactio, perhaps)? (Yes, even Ranma.)

(I'm also wondering why, at least on looking through the Negima crossovers on fanfiction.net, there are tons of crossovers with Naruto... )

I've read both of those. I'm not entirely sure about Mahora One-Half, even though the story does appear to set Ranma up to become an Evangeline-class vampire, at the least. Mahoranma, however, does have Ranma becoming somewhat uber rather quickly.

I've read that a while back, but I don't really remember it at the moment. My issue with Negima/Naruto crossovers is that - the ones I've read, anyway - they seem to tend to take a God-Of-Jutsu, heavily-experienced Naruto, and then toss that into 3-A/Mahora.

Of course, it's not easy to do a Negima/Ranma crossover without Ranma being strong, in some way, in the first place.

hmm...well http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8903620/1/Discontinued-Negima-X-Overs are a few oneshots that are well written, the first is my favorite. has a young Naruto with no training. third is also a Naruto cross where a fem Naruto takes the place of Asuna. and hey, has one with a Lovegood like Harry Potter, always a fun character type to read when you need a smile
and while I haven't read http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4647056/1/Ranma-x-Negima-Ranma-s-White-Wings I seem to remember good reviews for it.

On Mahoranma you have to take into account that Ranma hasn't actually won any of the fights with the big name people, and at best gets a stalemate on the author note at the bottom of chapter 7 has a good layout of fight chances. She tends to end up...not exactly in the best shape after most of the cannon fights, the first Fate fight with the petrification comes to mind. But still, the scene with Tatsuki running across Ranma with her new eating habits just made the story for me.

I did like the Naruto/Asuna idea.

White Wings was probably the first Negima crossover I've read, also some time ago. I can't remember too much about it... though I think Ranma did gain a harem of his own among the Negima characters, and did become a slight bit uber as a sort-of-like Setsuna (celestial, I think I remember someone using the term for Ranma, but not completely?) by the end. And the sequels didn't help that, either.

I think I've got Magic Within in my archives (along with most of the other Ranma crossovers listed, although I don't have White Wings on this particular system), so I'll have to go take a look at that, again, to recall it. ^_^;

Well... White Wings starts with Ranma going to Mahora looking for potential sources for a cure... after a first meet with some of the students Evangeline agrees to help if he goes with them to the magic world... while there they get separated, Ranma in the process of helping some of the others, both becomes more powerful and gets the attetions of a few of the girls... but in the very end his body dies... Negi did not want to attend funeral and was blasted verbally by several very upset girls and a disappointed Evangeline. There is a sequel, but I've not read it.
