Mibu Techniques

My theory is that the techniques of the current Mibu are variation of techniques developed by regular world. What they did was combine the principles of multiple techniques into a unified whole. Thus the original evolved into something completely different and godlike to the people who developed them. Broken down and separated anyone of them could be done by you average though at the same time still exceptional human warrior. However as a whole the Mibu techniques require so much energy and high amount of splitting ones focus between the different application of energy manipulation that if a regular human attempted it they would instantly burn themselves out or worse. There are many techniques that share basic principles, like reading rhythm, illusions, ect. Alchemy also seems to be theme. They also have a lot of techniques they developed from their experimentation with shaman. The extensive layering and experimentation is done to hide the fact they are far below the power of battle dolls. And while still powerful they can be reached by human effort as Tokugawa Hidetada, Date Masamune, Sanada Yukimura, and Akira has shown us.

Mumyo
Mumyo is a term that refers to the sword moves so fast that it appears nothing more then a flash of light. It is given to the strongest styles of the Mibu.

Soul Transfer
The power to transfer souls from their original bodies to others gaining its abilities and powers. This usually requires that the soul o the new body has already passed on but incredibly powerful souls can override host's control. These bodies eventually start decaying and "burn out" and become nothing more than animated corpses before it has to be disposed of. For if they body dies while the soul is still in it the soul dies as well. The stronger the body the longer it last. This can also be used to subjugate an existing soul sealing it in the body to keep it alive. However the soul and body have to maintain constant balance limiting the amount of time the body can exert itself physically. This process can also be reversed i.e someone using their own body to seal an evil soul. This approach does require a physical seal and if that seal is broken the soul takes control until the seal is reapplied. Though they share the same body the two souls have separate reserves of energy granting the vessel a sort o super powered evil side.

Satori
A mystical phenomenon by which a person directly experiences their own higher consciousness, and in that moment of heightened awareness one is directly open to the energy generated by all living things, the sum of all creation and its flow throughout the universe. The sensation is transitional and only lasts for a few minutes, but in that time one can become renewed in spirit and gain a connection to the universe at large that remains with you long after you return to normal consciousness. An empathic bond is formed through integration of the mind and soul, and while you do regain the ability to function normally in society, you also retain that bond for as long as you walk in grace with those around you. It is not hard to achieve this state. What it involves is surrendering the ego to the will of the sum of all creation, which is only as difficult as you make it since not everyone can trust that easily or surrender their ego without also letting go of the things which they most value. Satori is a difficult mindset to hold onto since it requires no effort, and this universe provides far too many distractions that tempt us away from the path of grace towards self-absorption with the illusion of the Maya, the concept that the Universe of form is but a dream created in the mind of the Buddha..., is a Sanskrit word meaning Illusion. The universe of substance that we feel and observe with our crude senses is only an illusion insofar as solid matter being nothing more than a projection of ki itself in a more finite aspect. Atoms are nothing more than packets of quantum energy that project tiny force-fields, and linked together in molecular chains these force fields are what comprise the larger clumps of matter that we can observe with the eye or detect with our other senses. Such objects are generally quite permeable by life force itself, and so we largely ignore them, concentrating upon what is Real and less on what is Illusion.

While Satori isn’t exclusive to the Mibu Muramasa’s ability to keep it permanently is. The ability requires no conscious activation and the user simple “sees” through a person’s heart. Even without speaking aloud user’s able to know what any person is thinking in other words they’re the best thief. Rather than penetrate a mind, it’s actually more like naturally receiving thoughts. User hears whatever a person is thinking of saying as actual speech. Strong thoughts are like shouts, unfocused ones are like whispers. Not everything is sent over. User only knows what a person is thinking on the surface they can’t hear anything deeper than that. Satori can be used in many ways such as entering a victims mind and placing a body-bind on them immobilizing and restricting their freedom.

Imprinting
Imprinting developed by the Mibu from studying the process by which Shaman gain their abilities genetically encodes a technique onto a subject. The energy pattern the technique permeates the subject’s entire body inserting it into their DNA triggering a profound and significant change in the genetic expression of their entire body. Imprinting transforms the way the subject’s body systems work, including their glands, nerves, and muscles. There are many ways to perform this technique though it’s mostly done alchemically mainly through a spell that simulates the world inside the mind. It brings out thoughts into the real world; essentially, making those who can accurately simulate or mold the real world would be able to control it. This was was Anri did to Yukimura when he engraved the Sekireigan onto his eye. It is actually similar to the Kekkei Genkai from Naruto and they were probably created the same way. Because the technique was imprinted on Yulimaru there are certain limitations that come with it. The first was that it can only be used five times a day. The technique uses Yukimaru’s vitality as its power source. So no matter how strong he gets it will always drain 1/5 of his energy away. If he uses it more than five times he will die. He can use it twice in a row, he can learn to create more temporal clones but he will always be able to use the technique 5 times a day. Imprinting can also be done through seal, acupuncture it can also be directly infused into the body as a form of accelerated training.

Sei
A technique that is part the restorative arts known as "So". Sei absorbs a huge influx of ambient ki temporarily fortifying a person’s cells revitalizing the body and negating the effects of deadly illnesses. Sei like all of the other So techniques is far from a cure to the Death Disease of the Mibu. It’s similar to the effects caused by consuming opium. It destroys the body’s pain receptors while forcibly stimulating the pleasure centers of the brain causing the person to experience a feeling of elation, relaxation and freedom from physical pain and mental disturbances.

Organic Steel
This technique alchemically re-arranges the configuration of carbon atoms of user’s body, allowing them to convert their skin into Graphene a substance that has strength beyond steel. The process is virtually instantaneous. The technique can be used to partially strengthen the density of selected parts of the body during battle, or the effect can be extended to its entirety. While in the armored state, user possesses the same degree of mobility that they do in their normal form.

Geokinesis
This technique harnesses and controls the diastrophic energy that is released from the movement and collision of tectonic plates deep within the Earth's crust. That energy can them be rechanneled to control the movement of the tectonic plates within limited areas.

Molten Flare Cannon
This technique harnesses and controls the diastrophic energy that is released from the movement and collision of tectonic plates deep within the Earth's crust to cause magma, or molten rock, from far beneath Earth's surface to rise, project through the body and be expelled from the mouth. Its temperature is more than 2000 degrees. It’s a molten hell, that even melts bones.This is an imprinted ability that is always active as long as user’s feet are in contact with the ground requiring their mouth to be sealed shut.

Phasing
This technique allows user to resonate with frequency of any barrier, allowing them to pass through solid matter by passing their atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which she was moving. In this way user and the object through which they are passing could temporarily merge without interacting, and each is unharmed when user has finished passing through the object. By to resonate with frequency of an object users atoms are polarized with the objects they are trying to pass through then they can pull their molecules through objects (like a molecular magnet). When phasing user is, for all intents ad purposes, intangible. Hence, when attacked, they can shift into a "phasing" state so as to allow oncoming attacks, projectiles or energy blasts to pass through them harmlessly. Skilled users are able to phase other objects along with themselves without harm to them. However, they have to maintain physical contact with the people or objects they phased along with themselves for the effect to work with this other person or object. User passes through objects at the same rate of speed at which they were moving before they "entered" it. The main weakness of this technique is that a significantly stronger opponent can overwhelm this ability.

Element Fusion
This is an application of phasing that in many ways could be considered a variation of the Umisenken. This technique is the result of spreading user’s molecules so far that light passing right through them. In addition Element Fusion completely erases user’s spiritual energy signature and all their other traces. In effect user merges with their surroundings and even their accessories, clothes and presence disappear. Element Fusion stops user’s breathing and form completely, no human can sense them using the 5 senses, forget about attacking defending is useless. It’s as if opponent is in a duel with an assassin that is as shapeless and as mobile as the air.

Kinju
Kinju seems to a type of magic that seal objects, living beings, energy, along with a wide variety of other things within another object. This is what Mibu Kyoshiro used to seal Onime no Kyo bodies.

Necromancy
The art of reviving the bodies of the deceased. It revolves around manipulating the dead, death, and souls. The main restriction of the art revolves around how much time has passed since the soul has left the body. The Mibu Necromancy art is in many ways similar to the techniques shown in inuyasha.

Pseudo Zombies
The main offensive weapon of Saishi. When creating a Pseudo Zombie a living sacrifice is required for Saishi’s ki to use as a vessel. The process which a human body is converted into an undead vessel is similar to the process of petrification that exists in nature, with certain plants. When a tree or plant becomes petrified, what happens is that over the course of years, the original biological elements of its cells are very gradually replaced by mineral elements so gradually that the infusing minerals take on the same shape and appearance as the original biological cells. In effect, the original biological cells act as a matrix, or as a sort of "molding", for the incoming mineral deposits, and what you end up with is a gradual build up of minerals in the exact shape of a tree trunk, or a plant of some sort. This same process, vastly speeded up, is what happens when a human body is transformed into a zombie. Saishi’s energy flows into it and replaces all the original human organic matter but it does it gradually, and in such a way as to mimic the original cell structure. And the organic matter is not completely replaced, but is only 99.9999 percent replaced. A tiny amount of the original human cellular matter remains as a template, spread molecularly thin throughout the newly generated, unnatural tissue which is made up of necromantic energy in more or less solid form. The original soul attached to that body loses its adhesion and undergoes the metaphysical equivalent of evaporation into the ether. The user can theoretically reincarnate a limitless number of people in this way, so long as they have enough sacrifices, and energy to perform the technique.[2] The reason I call them Pseudo Zombies is that the are less the walking undead and more like puppets their personalities are merely projections of Saishi’s and while this does provide them some degree of free will they are little more then mindless killing machines under her command. Though they can’t regenerate unless aided by an outside source their bodies will always revive are able to keep functioning even if their heads are grievously damaged. Infact injuring them releases quickens the flow of ki in their body making them stronger. Since the ki sustaining their bodies is tied to the wood element the Zombies have unlimited reserves of energy, as well as seemingly near-unlimited stamina and can fight continuously. The only way to kill these Zombies is to completely obliterate them in one shot so that they don’t have time or the resources to revive.

True Zombie
This was the technique used to resurrect Tomoe Gozen. It redirects the flow of KI back into the dead re-linking the soul, thus giving them life again. The process also reverses the subject’s age to its prime. The subject is effectively immortal. Once the process is complete they will not age beyond their prime. The cells of their body are not alive, and are not subject to cellular mitosis, which usually accompanies growth in normal human organisms. Since the subject isn't technically "alive", they are also immune to all known Earthly diseases and infections. While a powerful and versitile technique it has a number of limitations. The main one is that it can only be done before the soul has passed on which leaves a short window to prepare. Also the body must be intact, which is why Oda Nobunaga’s soul was transferred to another body. His head was chopped off and his body was burned he couldn’t be made into a zombie even though the Mibu were on hand. Finally while Zombies are unaging their bodies heal at a normal human rate. The reason Tomoe Gozen is considered a zombie Taihaku isn’t is because the technique was perform on him by the Aka no Ou while he was still alive. While it was performed on her by Saishi after her death. While Saisei is subject to Saishi’s will she does have free will. I though that was one of the funniest moments in the series was Saisei in her nurse’s outfit doing cutesy poses and looking absolutely miserable.

Specters
Specters are the resurrected dead brought back to life. The technique eliminates the main weakness of true zombies in that it can reincarnate souls that have already passed on. This technique is a variation of the Pseudo-Zombie technique where a sacrifice is required for the soul of the reincarnated to use as a vessel. However this sacrifice does not need to be living. Dust and ash encase the sacrifice's body, giving them the same appearance that the reincarnated had at the time of their death. The reincarnated body will appear grey and in a state of minor decay, marred by cracks and other imperfections, they also retain their memories, and all abilities they had in life. As a downside, the reincarnated seem to retain any permanent body damage and physical limitations they received during their lifetime. The reincarnated all have black sclera and white irises. While Specters retain all of the memories and abilities of their personalities are completely eliminated, turning them into mindless killing machines under summoners command. This makes them less effective as warriors and as soldiers. Specters don’t have auras so other than sight, there’s no other way to know their position. This technique can also be used to to resurrect inanimate objects. The user uses their ki to materialize a vessel by which the soul of the object can enter, however only the weapons of those who have learned to talk to them can be resurrected.

Cellular Regeneration
Wood is a mystically or supernaturally imbued material, in a way that plastic and metal are not. Being living or formerly living thing or retains some essential element of natural Earthly life that is inimical to otherworldly energies; an elemental force that plastics or metals do not have. Wood also stores within its cells, through photosynthesis, the same element that sunlight possesses. This technique alchemically breaks the physical physical structure of wood into its most basic form and them imprints it onto the body. As all matter is simply energy expressed in form this technique actually exchanges the energy that forms their body with the energy of wood. The cellular structure of the new body is similar to that of the old, but has more in common with plant tissue. Because of this the body sustains itself through photosynthesis and is capable of absorbing solar energy and storing it. The body stores and processes solar energy at a rapid rate enabling it to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissue with far greater efficiency than an ordinary humans. Just like how the branches cut off a tree will grow back, user is impossible to kill by normal means. Any damage they receive will easily regenerate within a few seconds, be it lost limbs or complete disintegration. To destroy user, every cell in their body has to be destroyed.

Bakujinen
The user spews a stream of gun-powder from their mouth, which surrounds the region. As the gunpowder is composed entirely of ash, it stays in the air around the victim like a cloud, which can be used like a smokescreen. The ash can also be further manipulated to spread out if target tries to escape. After surrounding the enemy with the ash, the user then throws metal spikes at the enemy. If the spikes hit vital points, the enemy of course dies. If the spikes are parried or blocked with something metallic (like a sword), then a resulting spark will ignite the dust, resulting in a violent explosion, burning the enemy. However, this technique requires keen senses to read the air currents, the insight to read the movements of the enemy, the tactical experience to not also enfold one's allies in the flames, and careful attention for the timing of the ignition.

Spiritual Surgery
Spiritual Surgery is the ability to selectively phase only certain parts of the body, while still holding oneself completely together. User makes their hands phase through matter and can perform surgeries on people without touching their skin. This allows them to speed up the body's natural healing process by transfering their ki directly into them. It can be used to treat both external and internal injuries. The strength of the technique is directly proportional to the ability to utilize their own ki. I.E a person who can manipulate the elements can perform this technique significantly better then someone who can only harden their hands to crush stones. The fact that all of this is done while utilizing a refined version of phasing means that, only a few highly skilled individuals are able to use this technique. User also gains direct access the pathways of chi in the human body allowing them to manipulate its flow curing or increasing the effects both physical and spiritual in nature, such as curses, pressure points, ect. Saisei used this to manipulate Shinrei's water dragon inside Yuya's body.

This technique can also be used phase parts of whatever user is touching. For example, user could cause an opponent to phase, while keeping their weapons solid so that the weapon falls through opponent's hands. It can also be performed offensively. By sending an excess amount of energy into the patient's body, the user can overload the patient's normal circulation, trapping them in a comatose state. User could also pass a part their body within another living being and ever so slightly exit decrease their phase state.Even a minimal shift is sufficient to cause the organism they pass through excruciating pain, a shock to the nervous system, and unconsciousness. Were they to deshift any more the shock would probably kill the other organism.

Dimensional Reversal Gate
User performs spiritual surgery on them self and links their life energy with that of the opponent. When attacked, they shift into a "phasing" state opening themselves psychically in order to establish an empathic rapport. Thus whenever they are attacked upon contact it is conveyed directly back onto opponent, who takes it in like a sponge, including sympathetic reactions. The technique is a double-edged in that it works in reverse as well. If the user's enemy attacks themselves, then the attack will instantly strike the user instead. To avoid this, it is prudent to constantly establish and sever the link. While the user attacks, they can sever the link to prevent a counter from their enemy that an open one would allow. When they defend, they establish the link. Unless someone catches their rhythm or is massively faster, there's no way for the enemy to abuse this technique's weakness.

Gyokuto Hyakuden Shugeki / Usachan Tenko Tenko Pancho

A flurry of over one hundred punishing blows. Since Saishi’s healing factor enables her to push her muscles beyond the natural limits of the human body without injury, granting her some degree of superhuman strength this attack is truly devastating.

Phenomenon Face
Phenomenon Face is the Hengenjyu (Camouflage Technique). It creates three-dimensional images of certain visual concepts from thoughts and emotional impressions within the minds of others. The technique projects the images around user altering their appearance. Phenomenon Face reaches into another person's subconscious and project an image of the object of that person's "heart's desire." The heart of man is not a simple thing. Whoever has a feeling towards a person in his deepest part of his heart, love, friendship, respect, hate, vengeance. Phenomenon Face reveals all that has been kept in our hearts and projects it into reality. Most of the time the person himself doesn’t even realize that he still keeps that feeling in his heart as long as there’s a feeling then you will not get away from the Phenomenon Face. Human feeling will not be erased so easily.
Although user can consciously initiate the mental probing in order to find and project an image, the probing process itself isn't governed by their conscious mind. Hence, user does not consciously know what the image they seeks in another person's mind is (in any more detail than that it was the image of the object of his or her greatest fear, or that it was the image of what they hate the most, or whatever) until its image actually appeared
in three-dimensional form. The three-dimensional images that Phenomenon Face causes appear similar to holograms, and can be seen by anyone in their vicinity. However, only the people who user derives the image will perceive it as "real," indistinguishable from the real person or object it portrays with the same shape and strength as the original.

Phenomenon Face can project mental images on several people at once. Each "victim" would see a different image, corresponding to his or her own individual concept of the kind of image that user sought. If, for example, user sought to make a group of people each see the object of his or her greatest fear, probably each person in the group would see an image of a different person. The seeming materialization of the object of his or her greatest fear or desire invariably has immediate emotional impact on the person from whom Phenomenon Face had drawn the image projected. The images dissolved and ceased to exist as soon as user ceases to maintain sufficient concentration to keep them visible.

Silent Breath
Silent Breath is a technique that allows user to manipulate objects around them by altering their rhythm. While the technique may seem telekinetic is nature in actuality it has more in common with telepathy. User sends ki through the vibrations in the atmosphere allowing them to create a frequency which resonates with the rhythm of the object allowing user to mess around with the qualities of it. The frequency produces a bizarre clicking sound. There is nothing that Silent Breath can’t control. Its song controls everything that moves and stays. It enables the user to levitate objects, and by controlling the wind propel or manipulate them however they wish. Silent Breath can allow a user to perform an amplified jump by manipulating the ground to make it more elastic. It also allows a user to manipulate the "Air" mid-jump and use it to accelerate. Silent Breath can even alter an object's form. When used on a living being Silent Breath renders the subject into a zombie-like state/trance and are completely subjected to the users will. Physical pain does seem to be able to break the subject out of the trace, though they will have no recollection of what they did while under so to them it just seems like they’ve been attacked. Manipulating a living being can be beneficiary as well. Silent Breath can stimulate the parts of the brain that controls motor functions and make people stronger, faster and more durable; up to the point where they can achieve superhuman feats by unlocking their hidden physical potential.

When performing Silent Breath on themselves user can transform parts of their body into anything they wish bladed weapons or example. Aside from being able to change their outer appearance, they can alter the inside of their body as well, shifting the location of vital organs, and regenerating organs as well. They can even harden their bones and remove them, regrowing new bones instantly to take their place. With this ability, user can even fully change their outer appearance, being able to transform into another human form, or take the form of a living weapon, making this useful for disguise. Indara used this to transform her body into a flexible organic diamond form. In many ways, this is similar to organic steel technique. The main weakness of Silent Breath is that the more complex the rhythmic alteration the more intricate the song to cause it has to be requires great skill to perform even the most minimal of task.

Seikireigan
Eye of the Wagtail
The sekirei (wagtail in English) is a small, clumsly-looking bird that plays an important role in the creation myth of the Ainu, Japan’s indigenous people living mostly on the northern island of Hokkaido. It is seen as the messenger of the god Kamui. Kamui instructed the sekirei to creat the earth by flapping its wings to part the waters and stepping on the island to flatten it. So a sekirei is symbolic of someone who may be physically weak, but works hard and has a lot of heart.
An advance Mibu technique that alters time relative to user. It is temporal displacement through non-linear projection. The user sends an image of themselves forward and backward in time then projects themselves into that image. This power enables them to be in more than one place at the same time for time bends to accommodate their wishes. Beginners generally start out with two temporal clones and gradually move up from there.
It is essentially a training technique whose main purpose is speed therefore is contains many different aspects. The second one involves controlling the speed in which time flows around the user. User doesn’t actually move any faster (rather, they are slowing down Time relative to themselves, and can make themselves so "fast" that the rest of the world appears to be moving in slow motion.) users can also speed up time relative to others, this ability is greatly limited however, allowing user to focus on only one person at a time effectively stopping them in time.

Seikireigan gets its name from the fact that it is imprinted onto an individual’s eye. Because the technique was imprinted there are certain limitations that come with it. No matter how strong the bearer is the technique can only be used a certain number of times a day this number is usually determined by the person who imprints the technique onto them. Using it more than that can cause death. Which is where the symbolism of the Sekirei comes from the strength of the Seikireigan doesn’t conform the power of the technique itself but what the bearer does with limit number of times they can use it. Using the Sekireigan also causes the user's sight to deminish. It is noteworthy that having the Sekireigan in one eye leaves the other unused eye unharmed and can stop the user from dying after using it more than five times (although the user will still be physically exhausted).

Shirasagi No Hana
White Heron Flower Technique
This is an application of Seikireigan. With this method user can slip out of synch with the flow of normal space-time and reenter the world of matter at a point of their select choosing. There is no way to block or anticipate this maneuver, and the power with which user can attack at points completely unexpected makes it a very simple means of taking the fight out of a tough opponent before the fight has even gotten started. Yukimura used the backlash of energy caused by using Shirasagi No Hana that would usually be used to attack to block an attack by Chinmei

Shikaionjyu
The Devil of Sea of Death
This is a sealing technique created in a matter similar to the Medusa eye. The special hormone that is naturally produced in the body’s o Shaman was extracted and isolated from Akari’s body. It was used as ink and was tatooed/carved onto Ishinso Shindara’s cheek as a seal. The seal grants him a highly refined version of Akari’s power. His body constantly absorbs ambient energy augmenting his physical strength, stamina, speed, and reaction time to several times greater than those of a normal human. Unfortunately it was quickly discovered that the effect was only temporary.

So the process was repeated at various other places on his body. He was also given a verity of other seals that act as stabilizing agents. Akari’s cells within the seals behave like a virus or, more specifically, a retrovirus. they attach themselves to a host cell, sometimes shrinking to the size of a virus or most likely dividing itself into many virus sized molecular structures and attaching themselves to the host cell's membrane. They then infect the host cell, making a DNA copy of the genome for use in making RNA. This RNA could be used as a template for making more viral genomes and as mRNA to produce viral proteins, which is known as reverse transcription. Cells grown in size and seem to attack white blood cells first. The host body triggers an autoimmune response to the infection, causing the release of white blood cells. Once the bloodstream of the subject has been flooded with white blood cells, the infected cells send out a signal to the other infected cells that are not producing the virus-like cells which in turn grow in size, causing swelling in tissues and extreme pain. In most cases, this results in convulsions and agonizing screams from victims. This most likely stems from disrupted neural pathways where the immense size of these predatory seeker cells turn on the host's white blood cells and devours them.

Genetically different cells will adapt and mutate for the betterment of the host. There is another factor in mitosis of Akari’s cells that provides for extra "checks and balances" on the creation of new material. On one hand, the genome is thoroughly checked for anomalies in the DNA and can more likely spare the expense of ATP in these checks because of the plethora of energy in a "pure" cell. On the other hand, the DNA readily accepts foreign DNA if it mutates a cell for the betterment of its new host. The DNA of that cell is able to convert both unique cells, incorporating the DNA changes of both into the host cell.

Shikai Onjuu
The power of unlimited regeneration, grafting the Shikaionjyu onto the body grants it an accelerated healing process that enables bearer to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissue with far greater efficiency than an ordinary human. They can regenerate great damaged or destroyed tissue with few seconds. Ishinso Shindara has been shown to fully heal from numerous gunshot and sword wounds within a matter of seconds. Unfortunately the bearer cannot regenerate indefinitely since the bearer’s rate of healing is field by the ki absorbed by the body if they break their physical limitations and the strain of the regeneration is too high.
