IIRC, Mercury has teleported by herself, too, and that was in the Dark Kingdom arc.

At least at her first (Saturn's first) appearance, in the manga anyway, because Saturn described herself as 'sleeping' inside of Hotaru, as well as hinting somewhat seperate at that point in time. That and as Eris said Saturn/Hotaru can be very scary if she wants to.
