The director? who did seasons 1-4 got kicked off the staff for deviating to far from the main storyline, escpecially in SuperS, IIRC.
Now who mentioned that? *scratches head*
The director who did seasons 1-4 got kicked off the staff for deviating to far from the MANGA. I can't blame the guy either. Every arc of the Manga seemed to go like this: Enemy attacks - everyone dies - Usagi brings everyone back to life.

OK I wasn't to sure of the specifics of it.
Didn't the Senshi only die and get resurrected during the first and last arcs? :?

All of this is manga only
Sailor moon: At the end all the senshi die, and history is reset.
Sailor Moon R: I don't remember well, but it seems that at least almost everyone in Crystal Tokyo dies, and then NQS later brings them back to life.
Sailor Moon S: Saturn for reasons I don't remember or at least don't understand kills everone but Tuxy and the other senshi. Then goes and kicks P90's ass. Moon then brings everone back to life.
Sailor Moon SuperS: I don't think I ever read the end of this arc now that I think about it.
Sailor Moon Stars: Everyone dies but Usagi. I don't remember Usagi bringing everone back in this arc, but the are all brought back to life at the end
So, three out of five just about everone dies and are brought back to life for certain.

Um. There isn't a reset in the manga from what I remember.
The end of the Dream arc? *scratches head*
Nobody dies (among the Senshi or random civilians atleast), but Usagi gets injured fairly severely IIRC.

Must have been mixing anime and manga. It's been a while sense I read that one. with the Beryl arc. Don't the senshi die at the end of the Beryl arc in the manga?

Yeah, they die, but she just resurrects them with no apparent 'let's rewrite history!'

After looking at some 'sites and rereading the manga I've drawn up this theory.
From the Dark Kingdom arc to just before the fight with Nehelennia(sp?) the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou can't truely be considered to be Usagi's Sailor Crystal, only when it changed into the Silver Moon Crystal did it it become her true Sailor Crystal.
ChibiUsa however in breaking Death Phantoms control over her created her own unique 'Maboroshi no Ginzuishou' (likely because both her parents have Sailor Crystals themselves), which then changed further into the 'Pink Moon Crystal'.
Which could explain why ChibiUsa died when her Ginzuishou was taken by M9, and Usagi didn't when Chibi stole her broach, she literally more 'intune' with hers than Usagi was when she stole it before.

ChibiUsa got her Hoste or soul taken at the same time as her Ginzuishou but it was a seperate act

After thinking more on the nature of the Ginzuishou, Sailor Crystals and my previous theory, I have come to this conclusion.

Up until the Dream arc the Ginzuishou and Usagi's Sailor Crystal where seperate things but 'linked' only because the Ginzuishou was 'sealed'(?) inside her body, but when Usagi's Sailor Crystal fully 'woke up' like the other Senshi it subsumed the Ginzuishou into itself, becoming the Silver Moon Crystal. The same could also be said of ChibiUsa and Pink Moon Crystal, but more tentatively.

This only works with the manga of course.

given the time travel problem with Chibi-usa (Usa stole it and it bonded with her) and Serenity being able to pass it on I run with the thought that it is not directly connected to anything but can sync with someone. When 'Sync'ed it obsorbs their Star Seed. Thus if it is removed by force or stolen while synced it will cause the person to act like their Star Seed was stolen since it was left in the Crystal. The Crystal can be "unsynced" or seperated from the star seed safely, but only by the wielder.

Its the only way that the Final season makes sense to me when lined up with everything else.
(When Chibi-usa stole it, it did not contain her mother's Star Seed/Sailor Crystal thus Usagi didn't keel over and fade away like others do when their Star Seed/ Sailor Crystal is stolen.

(This is similar to what Seraphim said, but a little different from what I interpret)

Wasn't it only in the anime that it 'bonded' with Chibi in any way? Looking at the manga to was only attached to a chain around her neck it didn't seem to do anything at all and IIRC Chibi said she couldn't use it. Then there was the scene that had 3 Ginzuishou in it.
