Wow Lawohki, I can't believe you are so hard a judge after so many successful stories in FF.net.
There are several fanfiction where Ranma is hated by most and even tossed on the street by even the Tendos. Mousse finds "her" and become acquainted like a couple. I went back to see that possibility and the story keeps rolling into hundreds of positive reviews. My point here is that Fanfiction highlights the impossible pairings and challenge the writers to explain how can those impossible situations can make or break a certain couple.
Heck, even Kuno and Ranma stories show successfully how welcome they become to many people. Akane beating into submission a weak Ranma are other tales very accepted so with all these demonstrations teach me that, no matter how twisted my view of a certain character, fanfiction will give me the right to displayed them that way without so much complaints.
Now. There is a reason why I want to duplicate Ranma's curse in my stories. I love Ranma as much as Ryoga, and by feeling that way, I consider utterly unfair that a proud male can "bend his hands" and accept defeat by accepting another man through his curse. When I create situations to make Ryoga part female is only to even the odds and respect Ranma equally.
You said, "You're basically saying that it's not Ryoga who is a good fit for Ranma but the girl curse itself" and I think. Isn't that the same reason as to Ranma not being a good fit for Ryoga, but the girl curse itself?" If you manage to read the long and boring stories I have written you may see that I make them equal, but there are certain scenes where both are males, and others where a female Ryoga still acts like his true male self, but it gets easier by being a girl. Same goes for a Ranma-chan who can keep her pride as a male when her love interest doesn't see her as a girl curse, but a whole person with both genders.
Mousse is 100% in love with Shampoo. That is a fact. All I am doing is hint a certain situation, but with a different goal. Hopefully chapter 3 should clear that a bit more as well as the reason how Nodoka Saotome works as a plot device through the story. In fact, let me post the next chapter on another thread. I am on chapter 5 right now, but I don't want to overwhelm the good guys checking my story with a mountain full of mistakenly written drafts.
That last point about the sexuality between Ryoga and Ranma-chan is something that transcends both the Anime and the Manga. The whole Koi rod of love would be more than enough to apply sensuality and even sexual desires between the two. Ryoga pulls Ranma's shirt to see the growing carp and what does she says?. . ."Oh!. I didn't know we were this far in our relationship." That pretty much speaks volumes from someone who despite being under a spell acts and speaks with a conscious mind.
The fiancee bit appears in the Manga as well, and to my shame, the different panels show Ryoga making out with Ranma to a point where the girl can't stop him unless she hit him with a wooden shoe on his head. Both are caught more than enough times in compromising situations during the Manga as well. From Ranma teaching the word Pig and getting glomped by him unconsciously to she not caring for her body while fighting Mousee and ending up naked not only from her chest, but her crotch as well.
All in all Rumiko Takahashi created many tense situations for most characters either in the Manga or indirectly on the Anime. In the end my take on my stories is for Ryoga to be happy and Ranma fits that criteria only if my hero Ranma Saotome is equally reciprocated as either male or female.
